A Quick Update

Italian Phrase of the Day: Il sottopassaggio è più veloce dell’autobus. The subway is faster than the bus.

My comment on this: Mi peferisco camminare. I prefer to walk.

I feel as if I have got a lot done this morning:

  • homework. It is really very interesting to time homework. I am going to go a little over two hours, I think, by the time I have finished the grammar section.
  • living room floor swept, dry-mopped and wet-mopped
  • all magazines, etc. put into neat piles.
  • dusting done.
  • stripped the bed and made it up with clean sheets

I had to change the time of this desk-top PC manually. Oh, sure, I could have downloaded a patch, but to be honest, my experience with downloading anything from Microsoft has not been good. Yes, maybe it fixes this or that, but in doing this, it messes up something else. So, I prefer to do ithis particular change manually. I did download the update for the little Mac Book and it was dutifully telling me the right time this morning when I checked it.

The rest of the day:

  • go for a massage at 1:30. Beth called me this morning to be sure I knew there was a time change!
  • continue putting music on the Mac Book
  • maybe watch an Italian movie I have had from Net Flix for far too long! They are not taking a huge fortune away from me because as long as I am watching Italian movies only, I am on their two-movies-a-month-for-$5 plan.

QUOTATIONS FOR THIS MONTH: "There is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so."

Hamlet 2.2.255-256

“Every life form seems to strive to its maximum except human beings. How tall will a tree grow? As tall as it possibly can. Human beings, on the other hand, have been given the dignity of choice. You can choose to be all or you can choose to be less. Why not stretch up to the full measure of the challenge and see what all you can do?” Jim Rohn (motivational speaker/philosopher)

Our Principal sent a reminder to everyone about the time change and McDonald’s called my daughter to make sure she knew about it for the morning shift.

After all the complaining everyone does about windows, I think it’s odd that I hardly ever have a problem. Mine changed by itself this morning.

Mine changed by itself. I was going to change it this morning, but I was awake at 2:00 a.m. (not able to sleep) and I saw it change to 3:00 a.m. automatically, which made me go to bed…LOL!

Watching Italian movies is a great way to learn it.
