A Mish-Mash of Chit-Chat
Last night I slept quite badly. Usually I go to sleep around 11:30 and most of the time without any help pillwise. Sometimes I take a valerian capsule which, once I can get myself to ignore the stink, works quite well.
I have mentioned before that I have restless leg syndrome {rls} For episodes with this , I have a prescription for Klonopin {or, rather for the generic equivalent which doctors here in Vermont routinesly prescribe which I think is wonderful since I had to ask specifically for generic in Mississippi} I take it seldom because it is addictive. Usually before I get ready for sleep, I can tell if I am going to need the Klonopin or not. Last night I fell asleep normally but woke up with a really bad feeling of rls. Now this is unusual. Mostly I get it when I let myself get overtired.
Yesterday I did work all day but I get to sit a lot at my library job so I don’t feel that the day contributed more than a normal level of fatigue. We DID have a large number of children in which raises my anxiety level especially one boy who routinely tries to sneak more computer time than he is allowed. {The library board set the policy that we must have written parental permission and after that, a child is allowed 30 minutes per day on the Internet with another 30 minutes if no one is waiting to use one of our only two internet-connected computers.} This is a child who writes his name on the sign-up sheet but never puts down a starting time and looks innocent when called on it. He does it often enough that we have all been alerted to what he does by a note on our bulletin board so now we walk over and put in the time when he signs in…
Any way, to go back to my level of tiredness, after work, my partner took me out to dinner. Because it is his week to cook, he paid. On my week, I pay. This is a method that satisfies us both. {One week when he was not feeling like cooking at all, we went out to eat five times that week ! Usually we go twice a week, though.} On the way back, we stopped by a store we both like that was having a sale on Pepsi and Mountain Dew both of which he likes and I don’t, and I spent about 30 minutes wandering around and buy little. {In our house, that is called a successful shopping trip!}
Writing all this has helped me realize where the rls came from. I did more physically than I do normally. Anyway, I woke around two with rls and took a Klonopin. To my amazement, I woke again at four with the same symptoms and this time I got up and started walking around the apartment. Eventually, it subsided and I went back to bed around five and slept until 9. This was late for me and I feel fuzzy-brained…
In a few minutes, I am going to call the travel agent for an appointment and start on my planned trip this fall. I always like to have something to look forward to.
