A Little Info About the Fish Eye

Apparently I have picked up a few new readers because I have had a couple of questions about the fish eye on the left. Regular readers know that it is part of a series of "Eye of…" pastel paintings I did a couple of years ago. {I feel silly still saying "Paintings" for these pastels but that it what our instructor said so we students picked it up too.} There are more samples of my pastel work to look at

here

including more "eye of…"  if you are interested.

I always though “painting” was an odd word, too, but my friend Lorna says the same thing–that’s what they’re called.

RYN: I just love Lois M.B. She is really just whip-smart. Her writing is perfectly poised between description and plot. Her throw-away comments are brilliant, and often….not so throw-away. I didn’t care as much for Paladin of Souls or the Hallowed Hunt, but I still enjoyed them. The Miles books? Stand up to re-read after re-read, and STILL keep me up late at night. Plus, I had theopportunity to meet her a few years ago. She is just the nicest woman you could ever hope to meet. She’s so kind and graceful when faced with a ton of drooling fans. She still seems sort of amazed that people enjoy her writing as much as she enjoys doing it. A lovely lady, really.

I generally call any artwork one puts on a wall in a frame a “painting” too…. I’m surprised an art teacher doesn’t be more specific, though! :o) !! hugs, Weesprite

I like that “eye” series.

Having a private diary means I only pick up readers who ask to see me after reading notes. I have a long list of favourites who are regular readers and whose lives I keep up with. Paintings…yes, that is what they should be called.
