A Little Improvement

I am forcing myself to get a few things done but I still have little energy or enthusiasm. However, I did make it up to the grocery store to get a few things today. Fred usually does the grocery shopping and I was going to go with him but he almost always goes in the late afternoon and at that time, I am out of energy. So I went by myself. I remembered everything I wanted except the Swiffer wet cloths for the floor and Fred very klndly got those for me when he went.

While I was at the grocery store, much to my surprise, I found some bitter orange marmalade. I had some in Italy and in the six weeks I was there, I must have gone through most of the pot by myself! {Milena preferred fig jam.] I have been searching for this jam here and today I found it. I also found Branston pickles and brought them home, too.  Branston pickle  {Google them} on a cheese sandwich is delicious.
Something is biting me. I woke up two nights ago with my left ear lobe hurting and today there is a small red lump on it. I also have a red itching place on my right arm and a couple on my back. I have sprayed myself with insect repellent which, hopefully, will put an end to this. When I was in Italy, the Italian mosquitoes found me and I eventually had to get some anti-itch cream. Biting bugs love me!
I walked down to the library yesterday because they had two more of Donna Leon’s books for me. When I walked back, I suddenly realized it was over four hours since I had eaten and I got ravenously hungry so when I got home, Fred very kindly fixed me a sandwich. I have been eating a bowl of Fred’s Famous Oatmeal for breakfast. It fills me upa nd I am not starving at lunchtime unless I stupidly lose track of the time and put off eating too long.
Tomorrow:

  • all the things on my earlier list that didn’t get done!

More later…

I wonder what kind of insect it could be at this time of year. Darn bugs, eh? I’m in the same boat myself – little energy or enthusiasm. ::sigh:: When you have aches and pains it takes more effort to make yourself get going. Happy Thanksgiving, Patricia!

I love those type of pickles on my sandwiches. I haven’t seen them in Alberta. My parents use to put them on our sandwiches. They are popular in England.

I hate biting things. Hope you solve the case of the mystery bug soon. Maybe you’re so good Fred is nibbling on you in your sleep. 😉

I love oatmeal for breakfast or any time of day! =) Sorry your energy level hasn’t improved very much.

I know what you mean about the little energy or enthusiasm thing. I am right there with ya. Here’s hoping your bug spray helps. Wonder what in the world it is this time of year? Hugs, M

This is the time of year when I switch to oatmeal instead of cold cereal. Hot cereal and hot soup are my winter diet.
