A List & a Few Thoughts

I had got about half way through an entry when this computer froze and I lost it all. So, a quick summary:

  • I got a B plus for Italian II. I am happy with this. I probably would have given myself a B.
  • Giving blood to be stockpiled for the surgery went well. I have had no dizziness.
  • I went to the library before I went to give blood so I have something to read.
  • My haemaglobin is up at the top end of what it should be. This is a Good Thing, the phlebotomist said.
  • I also peed in a cup. I must remember to tell the doctor that test has been done when I go for the pre-op exam on July 4th.
  • today I am going to wash clothes.
  • the weather is GORGEOUS. I think I might drive out to the plant nursery this afternoon and get some more potting soil and some impatiens.
  • I might even ride my bike
  • We have ants in the kitchen. I put down ant poison this morning.
  • I may just frivol the day away—I can do that because I am retired!

I am not really acutely anxious about this coming surgery but nevertheless, it is hard to silence the little niggle of anxiety. I woke up around two-ish this morning after having anxiety dreams. I can’t remember what the dream was about but I know I got up to check that Fred was OK which was slightly unreasonable of me because he regularly doesn’t come to bed until the small hours of the morning! He was fine, I went to the bathroom and went straight back to sleep.

of course, the surgery is weighing on your mind. that’s normal. i’m sure all will be well and you’ll be up and walking before they figure you are able!! a b+ for italian 2 is a very good grade. take care,

I knew you would get a good grade in your Italian class!!!! I know what you are talking about with the pre surgery anxiety. It’s not long now though until it will be said and done and you will be on your way back to your daily walks! :>) Hugs, M

I think I’d be having a bit of anxiety, too… but all will be well. A B+ is a great grade!

Congrats on the grade! I think that you are completely normal to be a little anxious about the upcoming surgery! You are otherwise a healthy, normal adult, so I’m sure that the surgery and recuperation is going to go wonderfully.

I had cortisone shots in my shoulder years ago for an unrelated issue. They didn’t help the shoulder. Im not sure if they will help the back or not. But I am definately searching EVERY option before Surgery. That would be silly not to. Though I will admit. I am not fond of needles, I dont freak out, I can handle a normal shot. But one to the spine really shakes my bones.

Frival away! What fun! Good for you on the B+:)

I’d be quite anxious about the surgery, but I’m a worry wort. Enjoy your frivoling.

🙂 oh I love the idea of being frivolous. i think you B+ is fab, particularly given that you had to literally force yourself to go to each lesson. And I understand that niggling anxiety…particularly as being put out makes you feel bad. I have confidence though.

frivol away!

Congrats on the grade! You did awesome! And yes, I’d be nervous too about such a surgery. But then, you know you’ll feel better so much sooner!

I can’t blame you for being nervous. Surgery is a scary thought….I’m putting mine off….scary, scary! 🙂 The pay off at the end will be worth it.

Anxiety dreams are the worst, right up there with the flashbacks.

A B+ is fantastic! Well done.
