A List
What I Did Today:
- Ordered a simple student desk from Staples on line. The email said it will be here on Tuesday. Before I ordered it, I showed it to Fred and asked him would he be willing to put it together for me. He said yes! So, next week I will have somewhere to do my Italian assignments besides the dining room table, my recliner and my side of the bed! And I can keep my books all in one place and not have to hunt all over the apartment!
- Finished typing my Itallian homework, checked it for spelling errors and corrected them. I am not a touch typist and although I am a good speller in English, I tend to mess up in Italian. The funniest was "le foglie" which is "the leaves." I wrote it as "froglie!" Well, you can see why when you see the sentence is "Le foglie sono verde." Verde means green so of course I typed "froglie!"
- After I checked the work for spelling mistakes, I went to the back of the text book and checked my answers with the right answers. I missed a couple but I am not too worried. I knew I didn’t understand that rule and it is quite clear I don’t. Nichole {instructor} wants to know what we are having problems with so she asked us to indicate on our sheet where we had made mistakes.
- Found something on the Internet on http://www.google.it {the italian version of Google} about a park in my assigned region which is Sicily. {I wanted Tuscany but someone else got it} Anyway, Sicily has a rather nice web page which one can choose to have translated to English which is a big help even though the English is a bit weird at times!
- Went for a walk. It was ok but a bit muggy and I had to turn on the fan when I got back.
What I Didn’t Do Today:
- Make a start on my art which I have to take to class tomorrow. By the time I was going to do it, I had run out of energy. I usually get up around 7 am and we leave about 11:15 so I will have time in the morning when I have some energy to get the background down and the foreground sketched in. I know what I am going to do… well, I think I do!
- Watch "Pani e Tulipi" { Bread and Tulips} again without the subtitles. Not a requirement but I wanted to do it. I may do it tonight . I love a subject where watching movies is part of our assignment.
Until later….
I should really take an Italian class sometime. It’s unreal how similar it is to Spanish. I think I’d be a quick study 🙂 For example, I knew what your sentence meant before you explained it in english! Yay lists. I should go on Staples to see about getting MYSELF a small desk. I could really use one.

I’m back! *S* A seventh grade teacher taking classes… Italian classes do sound like they’d be interesting (I love the froglie is green thing, btw). What I was getting to here was… If I were the instructor, teaching a teacher I’d probably be real intimidated. *S* Please tell me you weren’t an English teacher! Then I’ll be paranoid about my own grammer and punctuation! *L* However, Englishand History were my two favorite subjects!

I would like to start taking classes again…but I don’t know what I want to study. I guess when the spring course catalogs come out, I’ll take a look and see if anything peaks my interest.

That desk sounds mahvelous. I need a place to study. There’s a desk in Jim’s old bedroom that Thorn has converted into his “den.” I wonder how weided out he would be if I took over that corner. Hmmmm…

Movies as homework sounds good to me.

LOL to ‘froglie” just short of froglegs:) sounds like you are enjoying the class! Yes, I must tell you, having a desk of one’s own is quite a nice thing indeed. It is quite difficult to feel intellectual or creative at the dining table. I was there for several years and am soooo enjoying my lil desk! Oh! The furniture has arrived – can’t wait for pics again:) Stella!
