A Cold Day

Italian Phrase of the Day: Ricordisi si prendere molti immagini. Remember to take lots of pictures.

My comment on this: Amo il fatto di "immagini" è la parola del italiano per "pictures!" I love the fact that "immagini" is the Italian word  for "pictures!"

My walking buddy just called and she is not going to stop by this morning to walk before she goes home because she is not feeling well. I am sorry she is not feeling well but I am secretly relieved I don’t have to go out this early because it is cold! I am going to walk down to the library today when it warms up. {That would be up into the 30’s this afternoon, which will tell you how cold it is right now.}

Today on my to-do list is to look at the instructions and get my yogurt maker going. I have never owned one before but years ago I had a roommate who did and although I never used her machine to make any, I cerainly helped her eat it. I remember we used to dump a spoonful of fruit spread into the container and stir it around before we ate it and it was delicious. So, yesterday when I made a quick trip to get necessities of life from the store, {bread, milk. cream for Fred’s coffee and chocolate cake which was on sale}  I added a pot of raspberry and a pot of blueberry fruit spread!

Today:

  • work on Italian {class starts in less than two weeks}
  • check with Fred to see if he wants me to pay the Verizon bill he left on my desk last night.  If the answer is yes, write a check and mail it on the way to the library. {He usually pays it on line but sometimes the site doesn’t work well.}
  • make yogurt—well, actually, get clever machine to make yogurt
  • decide if I am going to read Monica Ali’s new book or not before returning it to the library. I have had it two weeks and not opened it yet.
  • go to the library
  • clean kitchen floor {which didn’t get done yesterday}

QUOTATION FOR THIS MONTH: If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment. — Marcus Aurelius

You know? A long time ago I got a food dehydrator that also has a yogurt maker in it. I never even took it out of the box. I think the time has come. . . Thanks for the inspiration!

I hope you have a lovely day, and a nice walk! It’s just as cold here, but not windy today. :o) !! I’m still hoping it’ll snow! hugs, Weesprite

I understand your not wanting to go walking. It finally turned bitterly cold here, too. This was just after our 65 degree day. It was cold and windy yesterday with a top temp of 27.

RYN:I will definitely let YOU know. You have been nothing but supportive and you have given me GREAT advice. 🙂

RYN! You know what is so funny about that, your note got me thinking and I used to have a plant of this variety in my bedroom when I lived with my parents (about 6 years ago) and HIS name was Horatio! I had completely forgotten. But, Horatio (II) it is! Hahah. I’m glad I had you to be the intermediary for me. 😉

I’ve never been a fan of yoghurt!!! Is spread the same thing as jam? You do make it sound nice, though…
