A Bit More

The Incredible Moving Tomato Plant started its life yesterday in a pot at one corner of the deck right by the steps going up. Then, after my conversation with Fred about it not getting enough sunshine, I moved it to the grass on the other side of the deck. More conversation with Fred today about Bryce {landlord} having to move it when he cut grass and the tomato plant actually made it up the stairs and to a spot by the steps. Tomorrow it is scheduled to be moved to another corner of the deck that gets sunlight for a longer period…

After lunch today, I went into town again and got a hose "gun" that had a "shower" and a "mist" setting. I also got a cushion for the adirondak-type chair that I am going to move up onto the deck because I enjoy sitting in it more than I do the upright chairs. Anyway, I got home and watered all the flowers and the tomato plant AND a good portion of my clothing!

I also saw a friend in town I hadn’t seen for a long time. She was my boss when I first started working at the library part time. We did a bit of catching up but unfortunately, she had a long list and short time so she had to dash off. Still, it was nice to see her.

What I am reading:

  • I am almost through with The Know-It-all by A. J. Jacobs. This,  as you may or may not remember, is his account of reading all the way through the Encyclopaedia Brittanica. I am really enjoying this book. It is both clever and funny.
  • The other readings I am doing are of samples of books I thought sounded interesting and downloaded to the Kindle. I may or may not buy.

QUOTATIONS:

I read the encyclopedia when I was growing up, but it was Collier’s, I think. I was a strange child. Your tomato plant is getting its full share of the view around his new home! That’s the joy of container planting. (((Hugs)))

Your tomato plant is fortunate….she will have a MUCH more interesting life than most tomato plants, who only get to stay stuck in one place their whole life long! :o) !! hugs, Weesprite

It’s going to grow legs soon! Have you heard of the topsy turvy plant hanger? I’m itching for one of those.

I’m afraid for our tender tomato plants in our garden behind the shed. It’s still awfully cold at night here…..Hugs,

You put me to shame with your garden work. Hopefully you will get a high yield from your tomato plant.
