4:30 AM
Well, here it is at 4:30 am and here I am up and awake.
Yesterday was a horrid day. The temperature here in the main part of the garret got into the ninties and there was a point where the air outside was cooler than the air in here.
We went out to McDonald’s to eat. We would have gone to the diner but the diner was closed on Mondays.
I felt very odd yesterday. I felt just as if I was having PMS–all pissy and irritable and hormonal. A couple of times I went into the bedroom and cried with just generalized sadness. My ankles and feet were swollen, I noticed last night and that worried me a bit because apart for being a bit vain about my quite nice legs, swollen ankles in a woman with only one kidney is NOT a Good Thing. However, I am pretty sure it was only the heat. My ankles seem to be back to normal this morning.
When I had endometrial cancer and surgery followed by radiation, I also had quite a lot of lymph nodes in my groins removed for testing to see if the cancer had escaped from my womb and was heading out into my body. {It was, but only microscopically–hance the radiation} Anyway, one thing that happened while I was recovering was a temporary swelling in my ankes. I was a bit perplexed to discover that I took surgery, a huge scar, and pelvic radiation with constant diarrhea for several months afterwards all in my stride but absolutely fell apart at the sight of my swollen ankles!
Laundry day today. I will also take some small and manageable stuff downstairs to the basement for storage on the shelves that Mike cleaned out for me.
Two and a half more boxes of books packed yesterday before the heat got to be too much for me. It is supposed to be cooler, a LOT cooler–today. I certainly hope so…

*hugs* I am a fellow “early bird”… it was 5:00 a.m. for me today! Good luck on the packing. Hopefully the heat will ease up soon. It’s sweltering up here too.

Heat does increase swelling in the feet area. I’ve had that myself. I hope you’re feeling a bit more chipper today!

aw, I am reeeally sorry you were feeling so bad. It’s all very overwhelming, this business of moving anyway, and then in this heat, too! It’s enough to make a person cry, for sure. I hope today is better for you! hugs, Weesprite

My good friend gets swollen ankles in the heat and so does my mom. The heat was killer yesterday, today will be another killer day. *grumbles*
Warning Comment
Better to cry it out than to keep it bottled up anyway.

I can’t imagine the stress of moving with this heat. I think that alone would make anyone emotional and lose composure.I hope today is much better for you.

I hope this insufferable heat abates soon!

The heat is awful. Moving in this heat has got to be hard on you. *hugs* Hang in there. You are in my thoughts & prayers…

Oh I can definately understand that making you nervous. When I see “bruises”n my legs, I think about the clots in my lungs that almost killed me. Scares the hell outta me. But like you said, it was hot. I really believe that crying like that lets out the stress and god knows you have enough of that right now. Moving is never easy even when you want to move. Take it easy, dont push. {{hugs}}

The heat here isn’t going to break until the weekend, and it’s absolutely miserable. I have no AC (the unit here doesn’t work properly to cool the living room) and I can’t afford one. Hopefully you guys get a break from the heat. It’s bleh here.

Take it EASY – can you ask some friends for packing help??

well moving and the weather–that’s enough to make anyone cry. know what you mean about the ankles. so much of me has fallen apart but i am vain about my hair, know that wld hit me hard even if i was fighting for my life. funny stuff. just look forward to more comfy days downstairs.

*huggs* I hope today is much better!!!!!

High salt can lead to the swelling. Also I heard that if you drink plenty of water with lemon in it the helps swelling. With the high heat (100 here over the weekend so it is probably headed your way) I always feel swollen. Maybe put your feet up too. Good luck

Hi, It was very hot here over the last couple of days and my sis and I did a bit of flea market shopping on Sunday so I noticed my own ankles were swollen by Sunday evening. It is probably just the heat. I hope you will feel better.
