Beginnings

I lost my diary on OD during the holidays, due to neglect. I received an email from a friend there warning me of the upcoming “housecleaning”, but didn’t see the email until it was too late. (Thank you ~Vee)Thankfully, I saved a good deal of what I had written, some in final form and some rough drafts, but alas, some was lost.

I will probably re-post some of those entries, at least the ones which I feel were important to and indicative of what I am and what I feel.

I have read enough of the notes to know there have apparently been some problems here. I was never one of the ones experiencing problems at the old OD, so have not gone through the agony of decision some of you have had to. I see some of my old friends have private diaries now and I am unable to reach them. If anyone reading this recognizes me, I would love to be aware of how to get to you.

Happy New Year to all of you – I have missed being with you and look forward to many enjoyable times!

Delightful to come across your name here. I visit less but will drop around when I can. So sorry to hear about your diary. There were lots of desperate warning e-mails. The DM only gave 30 days notice which left a lot of the people who were keeping to the minimum (posting at least every 60 days) in the lurch. My note to him re: that didn’t (unfortunately) change his cleaning schedule.

Hi, patalija! and thanks for the visit. Been on OD since 7/3/99, when a daughter said: “Dad if you join the Open Diary, you would be the oldest out of eight thousand there”. Didn’t have a computer. She brought me an iMac and put me online, using her credit card. Mine had expired. Don’t know what I would do without this diary, now! Came to your first post. Those are usually fine to meet someone
