Memory

Reading the chaotic entries of another diarist has put me in a wild-fun mood.

Unfortunately, I am still a little under the weather, so my body isn’t where my heart is. (…now there’s a vivid image!)

Its daylight, still, so I am probably going to go home, get on my bike. And, I think I will ride to the movie theaters, and see whats on. I wish I had a decent backpack, cause I will probably want a jacket on the way home. *shrug* Maybe I can fit a windbreaker in my fanny pack.

Anyway, tomorrow…well, I was going to go camping tonight, but the weather has changed my plans. I need a dry weekend, so I can seam-seal my tent. Otherwise, there’s no point in camping on a wet one. So, instead, I think I’ll perform a tribute.

My previous entry has me thinking about my friend (more than normal). This is the kind of weekend where we’d go do something. One of the things I really enjoyed us doing is Saturday mornings. She’s an early riser, her husband sleeps in til 1pm. So, on Saturday, I get up early, get cleaned up, and then clean my house until I get a phone call. She calls me when she’s about 2 minutes from my door.

I grab my checkbook and coat or whatever (she would always rant about my not carrying cash, but then she’d rant to me about how she “had $50/$75/$150 bucks this morning/week/weekend, and now its all gone!”), and come downstairs in time to climb in her truck. Then – we go do something. The most popular choices are going garage-saling, or going to Lowe’s. Other things include antique-looking, grocery shopping, or some other practical project. Sometimes, we would just drive, and I enjoyed that very much too. Especially when we took our cameras.

We would just go and goof. Whatever we were doing, we had fun. Usually we ate. Eating is a big part of my personal culture, and she indulged me. She also enjoys certain breakfasts, too. So we’d grab some food from the gas station or Kwik Shop and run. Or maybe we’d sit down at iHop and talk and plan the rest of the morning.

Sometimes, we’d just get pop, and go.

Anyways, this would last until around 1pm. On her way to dropping me off, she’d call her hubby (who is now awake) and find out his plans. She’d pick up whatever he might need, etc. But she’d drop me off, and I’d go on with my day, what ever that might be.

The best days were when I’d come over to her place later that afternoon, around 5 or 6… then we’d go work the yard, and finish the night by playing on her computer, or around a campfire, or vacumning the house while we played CDs (*nodding* yes, vacumns and music, not the brightest of combinations – but its something we did).

So, tomorrow morning, I plan to get up extra early. I’m going to get cleaned up, then piddle-fart around until 8 – 8:30am, then I’m going to go garage-saling, or go to Lowe’s (maybe I will go Lowe’s first, then Saling). Get some breakfast, and just goof. And have a nice time reveling in a memory of friendship.

*Hoisting my glass* To Trynity! Aack!

What an interesting life you lead. Lowes and garage sales. He. More interesting than mine at least. At least you can actually get to Lowes. The nearest Lowes to me is 50 miles away. Then again, everything is. Ub. Nice to meet you…Parra.

I hope you are feeling better soon, and enjoy your weekend, you know what I’ll be doing!

I just wanted to say, I find your entries to be something more than just words. It’s something about the way you use the words… whatever it is about them, it’s highly enjoyable to read them. This is something I truly appreciate. Thank you.
