Happy days!
I have not journaled in a while. My writing has been happily elsewhere. Life is great; I am really blessed.
The foremost of that blessing, is that I have found a special someone who has captured my attention (and I hers?) Weathering Hardships and I have been e-mailing back and forth, just getting to know each other, and I like what I’ve found. *smiling for her, because of her* I don’t know where this new friendship will go or what will become of it, and thats okay. The mystery of that adds to the fun, and I can say with certainty that I am interested in exploring it further – getting to know her better.
I could gush further…*smiling, then grinning* but I think I will keep that to ourselves, for a while longer.
(Thank you, D. You have touched me in unexpected ways…)
I had my annual review at work on Wednesday. It went well. One of the things my boss brought up was my dress. We have a “professional” dress code in this building where men are supposed to wear suits. (of course, women can wear anything down to decorated sweats. How sexist is that?!?) At minimum, shirt and tie. As a “creative” I usually wear polo shirts. And, my boss, knowing he’s in charge of creatives, doesn’t heavy handed enforce a dress code. But, he asked me, this time, if I could try wearing a tie one or two times a week.
Thursday, I predictably wore a tie. I wore the StarTrek tie that my boss gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago. Well, yesterday was very busy for our department. My boss was on his way out of town this weekend, and all of our department had little time to see each other. This morning, I found I had this email waiting:
Phone on ear all day long,
Meeting here,
Meeting there,
Rush, rush, rush–same old song,
But time to note, however late,
That tie you wore was really great!
Meant to mention it, but forgot.
Have a good weekend.
I just think it is really neat that my boss took time from his busy schedule to write something so fun, and and doing just putting a very low-key, casual spin on the whole dress code issue. I have said it before, this is a great place to work.
I was going to update this further, but Saturday, my thoughts and feelings were running in directions different from this, so I was going to make new entries, and get back to this one when I can. But, I had network trouble authenticating to OD. So, instead, I am probably going to simply move on from this entry and not return to it. Thank you for reading.
*restart, restart!* woohoo! I am the first note-leaver! I too am having fun exploring God’s possibilities. And I too have genuinely appreciated out e-mail connection. Your attention makes me so happy and effervescent *not like an Alkaseltzer* but like a child preparing to open a gift for Christmas, not knowing what will be found. Thank you so much for this new friendship. It means a lot to me. <3

Thanks for the note. That’s very cool that you have been e-mailing with WH. That was great that your boss took the time to drop you an e-mail. Mine old bosses would never have done something like that. Smiles,
