Drinking

Okay, I think I understand what is happening. I am becoming critically dehydrated.

How can I tell? First, i can feel my blood turn to oil. I actually feel a burning sensation in my veins when i reach a certain level of dehydration. The word picture is the heat of friction caused by my blood dragging through my system.

What else? Muscle pain, joint pain, and memory loss: short term memory loss, and certain classes of information, like names for example. Also, i lose my writing creativity. [sigh]

Why does it happen? First off, i like pop. Thats not actually what leads to dehydration… I used to drink gallons of the stuff… 128oz plus per day. At least one 64oz cup from Kwikshop per day. THAT kept me hydrated, if not also strung out on sugar (also not good for me).

But, in concern for sugar (due to increased sedentation of a 9-5 job) and caffene addiction, i reduced my usage of pop.

Which brings me to the other half. i am one of those people who do not like municipal water. Or, much water at all. I drink bottled water, but it has to be cold, and the price thing is a problem.

The result: I get dehydrated very easily now days.

I went to an ER a couple of years ago for an acute pain, which they treated, then they admitted me to the hospital for 3 days just to rehydrate me, because my blood pressure crashed every time I went to stand up or move. (the pain was unrelated to the dehydration).

So, right now, i am way dehydrated. The funny thing is, ususally, i crave water at this point. When my body reaches a certain point, it will MAKE me drink water, until I get out of the crisis point. It also makes me drink water when the air is below a certain humidity (winter) or the ambient air temp is over 90 or so.

But none of those are true right now, except i am blood-boiling, and still, it is hard to drink.

My co-workers have actually started bringing me a glass of water every now and again, which I guzzle with them watching (to keep me honest). And, to be honest, i am using force of will to make myself drink a little more. But its odd, because usually I am “self-regulating”, at least concerning this critical level.

Anyway, i wrote all of that to say, I am not writing much or well right now. And i believe the water is a factor.

(yet another reason to drink)

Not to forget that the human body is composed of mostly 70% water, so you DO need to continue drinking water even if you don’t necessarily feel like it eh? Ah, I’m just going to be quiet now, because I’m no doctor, and my head is ringing.

Jesus is Lord. 🙂

I love bottled water, just pay attention to waht brand you buy… remeber, evian spelled backward is naive. Conicidence? I think not.
