Craptastic!
Craptastic! reminded me of a dream I had this morning. Its not very profound; its just the first time I’ve ever dreamed anything like it.
After running April to work, I come home and take a shower, OR I go back to bed. Today, I went back to bed.
It was foggy here this morning. It was neat driving along the highway and having the sunrise suddenly in front of you, like driving to the edge of the world or something. The way the fog was this morning really impressed me, and really fed my autumn musings that I’ve been having all this week.
In the dream, the fog and cool air actually condensed into snow. I was suddenly driving, sliding, then stuck in my car.. .in front of my old grade school.
I was actually at the east end of the property. Its a simple, small parking lot, and there’s a few trees and much grass behind the lot (its the school’s game field). I got out of my car to push, or wait for the plow that was clearing the snow and slush from in front of the school’s doors.
The kids were all going nuts! Most of they’re parents sent them to school in jackets because it was chilly, but they were not quite prepared for a real snow. Very few had mittens or gloves.
But they were having fun, running around, scooping handfulls of snow at each other. Some were throwing snowballs, others were trying to build snowmen.
I tried to stop one child, to ask him a question, but he was too caught up to hear me. A friend of his was holding onto his coatsleeve. Suddenly the kid took off running. I lunged at him to get his attention, then snagged a coat pocket, intending to wheel him around and stop him.
Instead, he pulled me over, and kept pulling me AND his friend, like a human tobaggan. I was surprised by my fall, and when I saw that he was fine and his coat also appeared like it could handle the stress, I just kept on until he stopped, enjoying the ride.
When he quit, I asked him my question, got my answer, and made some general adult-geeky remark to the group of kids who were listening, and walked away.
At the very corner of my eye, I saw a boy wind up with what looked like a snowball, and decided it would be fun to let them whiff me with snow while I made an overly dramatic duckwalk exit! Instead, the snowball was a fair-sized rock, which hit me in the top dead center of my head.
It hit hard!! Hard enough to stun me.. I remember thinking “That was rude! I’ll play like he knocked me out, so he will know the seriousness of what he did!” But as I hit the ground, I realized I wasn’t faking. I remember trying to lift my face out of the snow once, failing, and falling into a painless black sleep.
Of course, I woke up and wondered, “What the HELL???”
I think I rammed my head into the headboard somehow. I dunno.
lol… Are you looking forward to winter or something?? :o/ *hugs*

Sounds like you miss the desire perhaps not to be young but to be reckless have friends and not have care in the world, but you realize that you can not go back to that, even though a few glimpses makes you happy. Sometimes those few glimpses in some weird turn in the world will cause you pain that you didn’t realize would happen. *L*..sounds like it. Just my opinion *pounces on dear friend*
