Building bridges

I got to use my truck for what I got it for, this weekend (or at least, one of the things). I helped install railing on one of the trestles on the local rail-trail on Saturday morning.

My truck pulled the portable welder to the scene!

The KRTC continues to make progress opening the rail-trail for public use, despite resistance from certain adjacent landowners, and the county commissioners.

For example, in their safety survey of the trail, they recommended railings on this bridge at a cost of $12,000. A group of 6 of us installed steel railing with cord stringers for a total cost of $96, plus 4 1/2 hours labor.

The county totally underestimates the desire, determination, and even need that our county has for this trail. Its good to build bridges.

My buddy has been online alot in the past few weeks. Not every day, but many days in the afternoon. I am excited and hopeful that it means business is going well enough for her that she not need to knock herself dead. I am also jealous in a way, in that I am still constantly busy — it is a trivial jealousy, and something I simply need to decide to remedy, but it is cool to note nonetheless.

I sit here and see her handle, know that she is sooo close; yet the link remains unmade. I open a chat window many times, but terrify myself each time, and close it again.

Better this current rejection than adding one more.

Sometimes, its tough to build bridges.

…she does have a cute IM icon, though.

ryn: no poor decision in life leads to a permanent consequence.

IR: no one is forced into pain of any kind; it is a choice. this may seem extreme at first, but upon further examining it is clear. Emotions are controllable, one just must be intensly conscious. about the God’s goal thing: do you really think we can thwart God’s will? If God could create the universe, I’m sure It could have found a way to have It’s needs met.
