Alpine
On my way to church Sunday morning, I was struck by how Alpine my mornings feel right now.
I stepped out of my doorway into a crisp morning with a bright clear blue sky. There was a tinge of chill in my nostrils while I sniffed the suble scent of burned wood. It was 8am, and the light on buildings and reflected in the glass on the upper stories was bright and sharp, but I stood in shadow – the valley between the mountain peaks of my block.
I chuckled at an expectation to see the upper stories coated in snow and glacier as I climbed in my car. I had a complete feeling of getting up and about early in Breckenridge, or Sliver Creek. It was nice, and it really helps set a positive mood for the otherwise dreaded mornings.
It doesn’t happen every morning: if it is cloudy or overcast, I am thrown back into the irons of dreariness in my State. But on some of them… well, its a welcome sensation.

I’ve been following your journal for awhile now. I enjoy your insights & admire your commitment to Christ! I’ve never left a note for you before, but your reference to SilverCreek caught my eye! I worked as a reservationist there for several years! Small world! (Although right now, it seems more like August here than November…no snow yet!) Keep up the writing! Tess

Hi! Ya know, I too, live in a dreary state, this morning as often happens, when I got up to feed the cat, it was raining, normally it bugs me, but this morning it felt like a blessing, familiar and comfortable. Funny how that works. I’m glad you got a “lift” from the Blessed Lord as well *SMILE* Love to you, my friend 🙂
