Just An Observation

When a bond forms between two people, the type where you rely on the other person for comfort and love and support through life, it becomes part of the scenery, unnoticed in the background.  It is like air; invisible and almost completely undetectable, but when it is no longer present, you can’t breathe.

And upon re-establishment of a bond such as this, the ability to breathe becomes an act of pleasure, an immediate remedy for the pain.  That is why people are afraid to be alone.  That is why one partner, generally, will stay with the other when they aren’t completely satisfied, until they find another source of oxygen.

I’m at the point now where I can see this bond because my hold on it is so precarious.  I’ve come to realize exactly how necessary it is, how important it is in surviving life. For some, religion and the relationship between god and man fulfills the need for this bond.  For those without this comfort, people become that much more important as forms of support.
