A simple test

YOUR SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE (simplified form) TRY IT You will be amazed! We are very pleased to be able to offer to you the opportunity to verify your scholastic aptitude in this new, simplified form. Please follow all instructions precisely.

 Remember to have 2 (two) sharpened #2 pencils before you begin. APTITUDE EXAM You will be given 6 (six) sentences covering a range of academic areas. In each sentence you will find one word that is in CAPITAL letters. Please write that word on a sheet of lined paper beside the numeric designation of that sentence. Write the capitalized word from each sentence going down the lines of the sheet of paper along with its numbered designation.

 Example: 1. DOG 2. CAT etc.

BUILDING TRADES 1. A helpful substance used in the construction of many newer model homes is a PUD-like substance that adheres to both wood and vinal fixtures.

SCIENCE 2. The center-most, calm vortex of a hurricane or typhoon is known as the EYE.

SPELLING 3. A favorite vegetable, sometimes mistaken for a sweet potato, is the YAM.

HISTORY 4. The name "Charles" is a commonly taken name for an English KING.

FOODS / HOME ECON 5. A popular concoction composed of beef, potatoes, carrots, peas, and other garden vegetables is known as a Yankee STEW.

SPANISH 6. The Spanish word for "couch" is "SOFA".

Now, to find your scholastic aptitude, list the words that you have written in the following order, and read them out loud as a new sentence…… "#2, #3, #6, #4, #5, #1."
