stars in their eyes

I woke up this morning not knowing if the scratches and bruises all over me were from yesterday’s roller derby bout or the amazingly rough sex I had when I got home last night.

Yesterday was an amazing day.
I skated in my first official scrimmage.
And my team won!
I jammed just once, but I scored 4 points for us!
Ben came to watch the whole thing 🙂
And we were told which home teams all the fresh meat will be drafted onto.
I got put on the team I really wanted.
I’m officially a roller girl!

I got tagged in lots of photos on facebook, but I’ll share one… one of me jamming of course

After all the excitement of the day Ben and I went to visit my parents.
Ben leaves to go home for Christmas on Thursday so the weekend was the last time my folks could see him to give presents and things.
My mom made this delicious curried lamb stew thing. we stayed a few hours and left at about 9.

I was exhausted when I got home but still managed to find the energy for naughty things in bed. Wonderful wonderful naughty things.

I got 2 hours of sleep last night.
I was fighting with myself all day to stay awake at work. Not safe.
I got home from work to find we had no electricity in our building so I was left with no choice but to have a nap.
mmmm nap.
I had fish fingers and mixed vegetable hasbrowns for supper. Kids food is quick and easy when I’m tired and lazy and cooking for one.
There seems to be nothing but butter and cheese in my fridge.

Now Elroy and I are snuggled under a blanket together waiting for Ben to come home.

On a bum note, Niks has broken her ankle.
When we left the roller derby world cup we chatted for a long time on the bus to Niagra about how watching all the awesomeness had made us want to be better skaters. The motivation and drive we gained just from watching those amazing teams was pretty incredible. Plus, she bought new pretty purple skates while we were there 🙂
But her first day back at practise she broke her ankle.
I haven’t actually spoken to her, just been texting. She went in for an operation on it today at 2 but haven’t heard anything from her.
I’m so sad. Even more sad than I’m so far away and can’t rush to be with her, visit her in hospital and help her out when she gets home.
