I had grand plans to visit my parents today and spend the day with them.
But I got called into work instead.
Always nice being woken up by a phone call at 4:30am being told you have to work and you’ve got an hour to get there.
Serves me right for making plans on my home standby.
The day wasn’t so bad after all. A nice easy 4 sector day with 3 nice boys. I was the only girl crew today which rarely happens.
And I’ve done nothing but sit on my ass for 2 weeks so I’m quite thankful for the hours.

Bad parts of my day:

-Eating an apple nutri-grain bar. The artificial apple flavour made me instantly think of apple sourz. As much as I like apple sourz, my body wasn’t so keen on the thought at 6 in the morning and I started feeling really sick.
Waves of nausea for about 2 hours. Urgh. I’m sure it wasn’t helped by the fact I had about 4 hours sleep last night and I was really tired.

-At the end of the day my hold-ups started falling down! Mostly just the right one. I went in the toilet about 3 times to sort it out but it seems to have lost it’s stick. Is a hold-up that’s no longer staying up called a fall-down? ha

My plan for tonight is to finish this entry, have a shower, do the dishes, make some supper and go to bed.
I’m hoping to be in bed by 8. I’m exhausted and I’ve got the same 10 hour shift tomorrow and I’m up at 4am again.
I know I won’t make it through tomorrow without a decent amount of sleep.

The first of today’s NJM questions is a joke. Is that a typo?.. 50 things I’m thankful for- I would struggle to think of 5 right now.

3. Describe your favorite vacation — who was with you, where did you go, when was it, what made it special?

I’ve had SO many. Taking Ben to South Africa in January was pretty special, he got to meet my oldest friends, see where I grew up, learn a bit about my culture. It was all totally ruined by the fact he got so sick while we were there, but that can’t be helped.

Also, the South Dakota road trip I went on with Niks, Mayday, Cece, Dusty and Bonsai.
I loved it because we were all together, having adventures and making memories and doing fun things.
Pictures from that roadtrip are here and here

oh and our first trip to Vegas.
Because I’ve never had so much fun, ever.

Ben and I have taken lots of little hoildays over the last few years. France, Holland, Greece. They’ve all been amazing, just because we were together. And our trip to Oman was awesome. Ben probably felt the same way about taking me to the middle east as I felt taking him to South Africa.

The holiday I took with my mom last year to Norway was also special. I don’t spend enough time with my parents considering they’re only 9 miles away, so one day I’m sure I’ll look back on that holiday and be thankful that we got to have that time together, just the 2 of us.

Sigh, I can’t wait to go travelling. There’s so much world to see. I really wish 30 wasn’t sneaking up on me so fast.

Where’s your next trip? Or where would you like to go that you haven’t been before?

“I really wish 30 wasn’t sneaking up on me so fast.” Amen. I have about 5 months to go.
