letting the cables sleep

I was on standby at the airport today.
8 hour shift and I was the only one in the crew room all day.
I spent 8 hours listening to music, editing photos on my laptop and watched a little day time tv.
It was wonderful.

Got home at 1:30 and Ben and I went shopping, The fridge and cupboard have never been so empty.
We bought some snacks to have in the car on the way home.
Had some more snacks at home.
Then some more snacks this evening,
Turns out I’ve been snacking all day and as a result haven’t had any supper.
And now I feel bad about it.

My mood has been a little up and down the last few days.
Ben and I had the most wonderful pillow talk the other night. Talked the future through to make sure we’re still on the same page.
I was feeling on cloud 9 and then yesterday he brought something else up which really upset me.
And of course it was over text. We never seem to have those conversations in person.
It was all so unnecessary.
I was still pretty pissed today, but I’m over it now.
It all turned around when I uttered the worlds "can I get a cake?" in tesco this afternoon 🙂

It’s my birthday this weekend.
Going out for dinner with my parents tomorrow night.
Then Ben and I are celebrating my birthday on Friday. Fun things during the day and I’m going to a cocktail bar in the evening with a bunch of friends.
Saturday is my birthday and I’m hopefully going skating in the morning if I’m not too hungover and then Rachael and I are going to the movies in the afternoon. Ben’s at work on Saturday so I have to find other things and people to keep me entertained.

And there’s a pile a presents in the spare room. Presents from Ben, from Ben’s parents and from Niks.
They’re all wrapped and pretty. It’s like torture.
So excited.

I’ve been keeping up with my one-a-day photo project.
I’m only 6 days in and I’m already struggling for inspiration, though I’ve been up since 3:30am so that might have been why I was so fuzzy-brained today.

21 Jan:
Cup of tea

22 Jan:
A rather sad looking tree

23 Jan:
Cheesy Wiggles!
Asda cheesy wiggles are way better than wotsits, and cheaper too 😀
And they have a wee mouse and cheese in the top right corner.

24 Jan:
Rachael came over last night and we made banoffee cupcakes and watched masterchef.
It was a really complicated recipe, it was a lot of work and a lot of dishes and a lot of time.
And the cupcakes?.. kind of meh.
They have magic stars on them though, which make me happy.

25 Jan:
Our lounge light.
I walked all over the flat looking for something to take a picture of.
It was only once I gave up and sat down, I looked up and thought "yeah fuck it, that’ll do"
