gingerbread houses
On Thursday Ben and I slept until 1:30 in the afternoon.
We both woke up a little baffled at how we’d managed to stay asleep for so long. Usually 12 is the latest we can sleep before one of us naturally wakes up and then inevitably wakes the other one up.
It was nice though, and we must of really needed it.
Only problem was that this was the day we had set aside for some serious grocery shopping.
By the time we dragged our asses out of bed and to the shop it was nearly 4pm.
We drove all the way there, even went inside and got a trolley and then decided neither of us could really be bothered to do any shopping. We got some snacks and drove home.
What a waste of time and petrol.
That night we went to watch The Presidents of the USA,
They made me feel like a teenager again.
Ben was there with me.
I was happy 🙂
Bristol has a local mini celebrity in the form of Big Jeff.
He’s a big friendly guy who’s incredibly passionate about music and goes to more live gigs that anyone, ever.
So many people in Bristol know him.
Rach used to work with him and introduced us once, he walked me home after a night out.
I’ve mentioned him here before
anyway..
Jeff met the band members of PUSA before the gig and they wrote a little song for him.
They played it about half way through and the crowd loved it.
Ben and I were laughing so much.
You can see Jeff’s massive blonde head rocking out to his own song in the bottom left corner…
Imagine.. having the Presidents of the United States of America write a song about you!
The next day we actually went shopping.
Even managed to save £17 with multi-buys and coupons.
Score.
On wednesday I spent the whole day with my mom and I made some new cushion covers for the scatter pillows we have in the lounge. I’ll post a picture when I’ve taken one.
And today I made a massive batch of gingerbread dinosaurs. I was going to make gingerbread men but the only cookie cutters I had were dinosaurs, so I figured they were more fun anyway.
Tomorrow I’m skating in my first public bout.. you know, like people are paying money for tickets to come and watch!
oh the pressure!!
I’m really scared.
I’m trying really hard not to think about it. I’ll never sleep tonight if I go to bed with roller derby nerves on the brain.
At every bout we host we have a goodies table where we sell cupcakes and things that the girls on the team have baked for fundraising. My huge mound of gingerbread dinosaurs are for the cake table.
The house hunt hasn’t progressed much.
Mostly because it’s still going to be a few months till we can actually put an offer in if we see something we like. Right now it’s a bit like window shopping, which is incredibly frustrating if you find a house you want!
The adorable one I posted pic of last week is still showing as available. I just want it so much.

Sleeping until 1.30pm, now that is an effort! I can barely sleep past 10am. Stupid internal body alarm clock… 😛 Good luck with your first bout! I’m sure you’ll be fantastic. Be careful though, yeah?
