I seem to go through peaks and troughs with my open diary.
I think it boils down to the fact that I don’t write for a week or 2 and then I don’t know where to start, or how to catch up.

I think my last proper entry was about a month ago, just after Emmy’s birthday party.

On the 10th I went to a work party.
My base won a party through an incentive my company was running. It was supposed to go towards a christmas party last year but we didn’t the money in time, so a spring/summer party was organised instead.
I don’t usually socialise with work people outside of work.
I don’t like most of the people I work with.
I mean I get along ok with most of them at work, but generally I have no desire to hang out with them after office hours.
We were promised free drinks at this work party though, so I decided to go along.
They didn’t disappoint. I got pretty sloshed and didn’t spend a penny.
Most of the girls were embarrassingly drunk.
Can’t say I was a complete angel.. a picture appeared on facebook of me hanging like a sloth from some strange pipe on the stairs near the bathroom. hahahaha.
All in all I had fun.

 

19 May I had 2 parties to go to. Yes.. 2 parties! I’m quite the social butterfly huh.
Went to Bam’s birthday party first. Went really early and spent a few hours there, had some food and drinks and lots of chatting.
Left at about 7:30 and went to party number two.
Chaos had arranged for us to have a slumber party in her barn conversion.
As fun as that sounded, the thought of sleeping over wasn’t all that appealing, I’m 28, I want to be in my own bed. I had a good time until about midnight and then drove home. I had 3 girls ask for a lift home so I definitely wasn’t the only old and boring one.
On Sunday I heard they stayed up until 4am and then woke up at 8am, I was very happy to have made the decision I did.
It was fun to have the fresh meat girls all together again though, I miss our sundays together. It’s all so serious now.
 

I spent the day with my mom today.
We went for lunch, and then shopping.
Town was SO busy. I expected as much, Saturday on a long weekend.
I can’t be picky though, I have to take time with my mom when I can these days.
Lunch at giraffe. And hours of shopping.
I got 2 new roller derby shorts.
Some green fabric to make a new dress.
And a multi-coloured floaty dress thing that one puts over ones bikini.
I don’t plan on wearing a bikini any time soon, but I’ve wanted one of those floaty beach cover up dresses for ages and I saw one I liked, so I bought it. And now I have it. Forever.

I’m getting so impatient with our house.
The bank is taking 3 years to approve our mortgage.
I just want to move.

I have no idea what it’s for, but it’s filled with the most beautiful pictures.
Search any word and it comes up with the most interesting stuff.
Ben and I have decided we want to paint a part of one of the walls in the kitchen with chalkboard paint.
This all came about because we currently have a small magnetic whiteboard on our fridge. We leave little notes on there for eachother all the time. The house we’ve bought has integrated kitchen appliances, which means the fridge door looks like a cupboard door, which means no more magents 🙁

Elroy’s not talking to me.
We’ve put a collar on him and he doesn’t like it.
When we move he’s going to be going out by himself for the first time and he’s going to need a collar and a tag.
We figured we’d get him used to the collar now so that it’s one less thing to stress him out when we move.
poor kitty.

I’d really love this giant garden apple.
It makes me so happy.. I just want to climb inside it on a sunny day and take a nap.

 

It’s Ben’s last day at his old job tomorrow.
New beginnings.

I’ve taken all the headshots for the league’s new website.
It felt like a massive job and I was really nervous, but it went alright and I was worrying over nothing.

It’s a saturday night. I don’t have to be at work tomorrow, and yet, I’m at home watching tv and snacking on dried fruit.
I’m super old.

I’m scrimmaging tomorrow.
I haven’t skated in about 10 days.

Niks is coming to visit next weekend.
I’m SO excited to see her.

Work is driving me to drink.
The summer has started and the assholes have come out of the woodwork.

 

It rained tonight.
In fact, it poured.
I wanted to go sit outside.
I wanted to feel the water on my face.
I wanted it to wash away all the thoughts in my head.
