“adventures”

Today I wandered the streets like a homeless Edi.
My car had it’s MOT today.
My mechanic is on the other side of the city to me, which is a bit of a pain in the ass but it’s impossible to find a good honest mechanic who’s not going to rip off a 20-something year old woman.
So I dropped my car off at 11:30, then decided to stay in the area until he called me to say my car was ready.
My car wasn’t ready until 8pm.
So, what did I do for 8½ hours?
I looked through every item of every local charity shop.
Had some old crazy lady talking to me in one of the shops, I think she thought I worked there and she kept asking me how long the shop had been open and if Janet still worked there. I didn’t have the heart to tell her I didn’t know what she was talking about, so I just played along a bit.
I bought a top for £2 and a dress for £4. bargain!
Walked around pound stretcher. Decided to buy a sewing machine. I always have to go over to my parents house and spend the day there when I need to use my mom’s sewing machine. I think it’s time I got one of my own.
Got a sausage, bean and cheese bake from Greggs.
Sat at a bus stop to eat said bake, mostly because the bus stop looked brand new and the plastic seats looked all clean and shiny and lovely. But also, to get out of the rain.
Then I went to Morrisons and sat in their cafe for an hour. I had a pot of tea and a slice of cheesecake. Saw one of the girls I skate with.
Read my book for a little while.
Walked around morrisons, bought some cereal and some cat food.
Went back outside and next door to Lidls. Felt like I was in a foreign country. Saw lots of things I wanted to buy. Managed to control myself.
Got bored of being controlled and went to the pub.
Had the most delicious salad! It had butternut squash, spinach, edamame soya beans, raw broccoli, green beans, pomegranate seeds and balsamic vinaigrette and I paid extra to have grilled chicken. I could have eaten 2 of them!
Sat in the pub for about an hour, got very bored.
Also noticed I’d bought the wrong food for Elroy. Got meat in jelly instead of meat in gravy.
Went back to Morrisons to exchange the cat food. The staff member helping me had a cat too and we had a long discussion about how if you give your cat the wrong food they won’t eat it 🙂
Left Morrisons and realised it was still raining and I’d sort of run out of places to sit.
Went to another bus stop.
Watched the world go by for 20 minutes.
Decided I was cold.
Went into a nearby bingo hall.
I sat by the entrance pretending to be waiting for a friend. I think the staff started getting a little suspicious after 20 minutes so I moved to the room with all the slot machines. Put £1 into a 10p machine and played a few spins. Won 20p. Reinvested my 20p and lost it.
Moved to a nearby chair and started watched the news on a massive tv.
A staff member who clearly thought I was there and spending money came over with a drinks cart and offered me a cuppa. I declined. 10 minutes later, after giving tea to all the old ladies he came back over to me and offered me a chocolate biscuit. I declined.
THEN I got a call, my car was ready! I was so happy to go home.
I guess the best part of the day was that my car didn’t cost a fortune. Nothing needed replacing so I just had to pay for the MOT test and oil and filter change.
My mechanic even said "you’ve got a good little car, it just keeps on going" And she does! I’ve had her 4 years now. Good ol’ Penelope.

House hunting is painful.
The viewings are fun, however trying to get a viewing is like pulling teeth.
1. It’s a mission to find an appropriate property i.e something with enough bedrooms, that’s a house not a flat, that’s in our budget, that’s in the area we want to live in.
2. When a gem of a place that fits all the above actually appears and I call to arrange a viewing, there is always some sort of excuse:
That property is going to auction. (well why didn’t you put that in the profile?!)
That property has been sold. (well why the fuck is it still showing as available on your website?!)
That property is no longer on the market. (see above)
That property has had several offers and the asking price has gone up by £10000 (well why didn’t you adjust it then?!)
3. The few times I’ve asked to view a property that actually is still available and still in our budget the agent has said they’ll call me back with a time and date and never did.
Seriously, this is the reason we’ve only managed 3 viewings in 2 months.
I always thought estate agents were scratching eachother’s eyes out to get your business, but apparently not.
I’m learning they’re all lazy and unreliable and always late.

My easter weekend was horrible.
I worked the whole long weekend.
It was so busy and I had so many arguments with people. It was vile and it made me so upset.
I hate being spoken to like that.
I was prepared to write a really detailed he said she said entry about all the fights I had with passengers, but I just don’t have it in me anymore. A few days have a passed and I don’t care anymore. I also don’t feel like I need to document it and read about it in years to come.

On the up:
Sex last night was wonderful.
As were the snuggles afterwards.
We fell asleep holding hands.
Love and happiness.

ha, i had a day like that last year. my car was going in for a breakjob, and ended up needing the whole brake system redone. so i bounced between an ice cream place, a fast food joint, and the lobby of the repair place for four hours. not NEARLY as entertaining as your day! lol
