Chicken Pox
Well, looks like I’m in for a rough week!
About a month ago, we got a message from my two year olds nursery saying they have chicken pox going around. It’s something, I’ll be honest, I’m terrified of having to deal with. I’ve been on the look out and two of her close friends have had in the last few weeks and now it’s her turn! I found four during bath time this evening. Took a photo and sent it to my mum (even though I’m a 26 year old nurse with two kids) and she confirmed it. What’s even worse is I have come back down stairs to feed my 3 month old son, looked at his face and he has it too! I took him to the hospital this morning for a hearing appointment … with chicken pox! I feel awful but I wan’t to know.
Knowing that I’ll have no help with it too sucks! My husband is at work all day and my dad has had shingles so will need to stay away. My mum has offered some help but doesn’t want to compromise my dad. My in-laws are just useless and we have such a bad relationship, they wouldn’t come over even if I begged. I’m up all night on my own with my son anyway though. Maybe it won’t feel that different. Coffee is most definitely going to be needed on tap this week.
Well at least my daughter is all tucked up in bed asleep. We’ll see how long it lasts!

Hi, your mention of Chicken Pox brought back some memories.
I have two siblings, and we all three had it at the same time.
So it was hard for my mom, too. Still, my dad was there to help her out.
I’m sorry that you have to take care of them all by yourself.
Hopefully, they get it over as soon as possible. Cheers.

calpol, calomine lotion and some scratch mits, plenty fluids. housework will be done in bits because you need to keep an eye on the baby so the pox don’t all get scratched off. put a kids film on and sit down to watch it the dust will still be there tomorrow. have some together cuddle times and don’t worry.
