a moth instead

“it’s warmer where you’re waiting,
it feels more like july…”

watch the outline of a few pretty trees blurr together into one pure mass.  these are purile joys.  these are the days of our lives.  and i hear whispers of past conversations, ‘there is no such thing as one pistachio’  and ‘if the answer to this question is ‘no’ i’m going to feel infinitely stupid,’ and i smile.

i started sleeping again this week. not well, but at least i feel rested in the morning.  and i started drawing again, too.  goal: learn to shade better.  i wish i had a scanner so you could see the girls i’ve drawn.  all nudes, all in the same position.  they lie on the floor looking vulnerable, with one leg bent and the other relaxed.  and on their knees, butterflies find perches.  except for the girl who’s wasting away, she has a moth instead.

not to shatter this delicate image, but in 7th gradeish my super annoyingly-innocent friends didn’t know the difference between butterflies and moths, so I told her moths were evil.

i wish we could see it
