I quit!

So I got to work today and the director of surgery informs me that they will not be refilling the position of the person who is leaving. This is a person who does what I do. There has always been two Anesthesia Techs per shift because we run 13 surgery rooms during the day and shit gets crazy …after 3 pm there is only one tech because its slow …..anyway

I work 12 hour shifts from 7 am -7 pm on mon, tues and wed.

The director goes on to TELL me that not only will I be working by myself from now on….but that I am also expected to do the same amount of work that it has taken two people to do, and in the same amount of time….. He also said if its slow in the afternoons he will me mandating me home early…

I asked him if my pay would adjust as my work load has…..

he said no.

So I said " let me get this straight….You are not asking me but telling me That I will now be expected to do the work of two people and do it twice as fast….and then after I do that all day, your going to send me home right when it slows down??!!?……Your doubling my work and cutting my hours?!…And your telling me I will not be compensated for any of it?! "

he said "that’s what I am telling you"

So I put in my two week notice.

which pissed him off pretty good…

and I don’t want to make him sound like the bad guy…He’s just the messenger for the company decision to screw everyone.

but fuck him and them all the same.

I’m going union.
