Art
first you take a silver
mirror and hold
it so as to
reflect
all that it is
you see.
Now
collect
everything in a pan
and gently agitate the world
so that the lightest
and least dense
of its things
are spilled back out
and into
everything
As if you were a prospector
panning for gold in
a mountain
river,
When you have shaken most
everything
out
If your lucky
and you look carefully
into the pan
you will be left with the scattered
gold dust
of the only things that truly

hidden among the other
heavy things that
weight us
down.
Take these things and
melt them together
so you can
carry this precious metal
around your neck
so it hangs
by your heart
forever.
