From a Distance

 There was a time
this place was black and real
I walked home here
I lived here every day.

Then they came for me,
swept me up in their bodies
They gave me answers
they told the time.

I’ve crawled back to you,
I’ve slept under highway cars
I’ve clung to sharks, to vales

just to see this place again
just to see it shake
from a distance

Thank you for writing again! I always enjoy the emotions and states that you paint with words…it’s very spiritual and layered. Love it always!
