Not quite finished yet!

I had a shower last night! In my own shower too. Finally it is mostly finished. Note the word mostly. The last things to be done were the mirrors on the cabinets. Ken came on Saturday morning to hang them. He had siliconed the mirrors to the doors on Friday at his workshop and it dries in a few hours. They looked good and my bathroom was looking great. We sat around talking for a bit, when suddenly there was a crash from the bathroom. I said “I’m not going in there to see my new shower lying in pieces”, so stayed where I was. Husband and Ken went in to find one of the mirrors had just slid off as the silicone hadn’t dried. Lucky no tiles were broken and the shower glass was untouched. Seems the silicone was the culprit and all the mirrors had to come off. So we’re still waiting on them to be done again. This whole job should have taken 3 or 4 days but it’s been 2 weeks with one disaster after another. But it’s nearly done.
Things continued in a similar vein today, as we got something delivered that we had to put together, which was fine as we’ve managed before. But the very first part wouldn’t screw in, so I emailed the supplier to let them know there was a fault in the product. I can only be thankful that it wasn’t the last screw! I’ll be glad when this year’s over.
Good news at last though for husband. The insurance company approved his back treatment and the clinic called to say he was booked for the 23rd December. However that’s when we go and meet Melissa and Evan for a few days holiday. So they’ve put it off until 9th Jan.
Melissa managed to text me from India saying they were having a great time, eating lots of curries and they were greeted with smiling faces everywhere. But she wasn’t sure if she could text me again as she didn’t know how good the phone system is in India.
We’re so looking forward to Christmas with the kids. I bought all their favourite lollies (sweeties/candy) but haven’t gone overboard as I know I’ll be eating some of them myself.
I weighed myself this morning and I’ve lost 12.5kgs. Husband has lost 10kgs and his cholesterol has gone down. So things are looking good in the health department for both of us. Except now we both need new clothes. Husband’s jeans make him look like a home boy. All he needs are his underpants to be showing and he would be in the fashion.lol
OK time for bed. Don’t know how I’m going to sleep as it’s 30C. Can’t get the guy to come fix my air conditioner!

Nitey nite all…………

I can’t imagine it being 30C at night! Well I can, asit wasthat hot in Morocco, but it’s never 30C in the daytime here! Glad that most of your news was good and that Melissa is enjoying India. Yes, the Indian people do smilea lot! All the schools are shut here because there is a storm, but I don’t think it’s that bad yet. Maybe it’ll get worse in a couple of hours!

Congrats on the weight loss! That bathroom remodel seems one of those jobs where everything seems to go wrong. Poor Opti! Glad to hear the back procedure is scheduled finally. I’ll be glad to say goodbye to 2011, too.
