Just over 2 weeks to go.
Our holiday starts April 24th. Everything has been booked and hopefully it will all fall into place with planes, trains and tours.
Places we visit are Milan, Rome, Krakow, Warsaw then we meet Luka’s parents and grandmother. That will be really exciting. However, not speaking Polish, I have no idea how we will cope. Maybe sign language?lol
After 4 days with them, it’s back to Warsaw for a flight to Prague. Everyone who’s been there says Prague is beautiful. After a few days there, it’s Berlin where we have a few tours lined up. Then a flight to Paris and another couple of tours, one is a cruise on the River Seine. Of course the Eiffel Tower is a must. Just have to see what we can fit in.
Then the Eurostar train under the tunnel to London. (I can’t imagine being in a train under all that water!) 4 days in London to see things we didn’t manage the last trip. Then we head for Scotland on May 22nd. Looking forward to it all!!!!
I’ll have to post some photos to Facebook to keep my family and friends up to date with what we’re doing.
Our son Evan was 25 on Saturday. A quarter of a century! Where did the time go? I told him he is now old enough, insurance wise, to drive our car without a massive excess if he has an accident!
That means when we go to Melbourne for our flight, he can look after our car for 10 weeks and have the pleasure of driving it. He doesn’t really need a car in Melbourne. Between upkeep, parking and insurance, it’s cheaper using public transport.
My brother Drew is in hospital having tests after he had what was thought to be a stroke on Sunday. After all the tests and an MRI they are still none the wiser. I spoke to his daughter Fiona today and the hospital was waiting for a neurologist to have a look at the test results, as he has them completely baffled. So we just have to wait and hope he’s ok. Fingers crossed he’ll be fine, as he’s beaten the odds so many times over the years. I think he’s had 5 battles with cancer and came through them all ok.
We’ve decided to get flu injections this year, seeing as the weather has been so terrible in Europe and UK. I’m not too keen on them, but at our age, it would be terrible to be ill while travelling. So injections this Friday.
When we get home on 1st July, Melissa will be in Melbourne and she and Evan will meet us at the airport to come home for a visit.
Evan is moving into a new place next week. He was sharing a house with 4 others but complained when I visited there that none of them ever washed their dishes or tidied up, and the place was a terrible mess. There wasn’t a square inch on the kitchen bench to put anything on it. It was full of dirty dishes, drinking glasses and rubbish. He’ll be
glad to get away from that. Getting a rental in Melbourne is terribly hard as there is such a shortage of places.
Daylight saving ended on Sunday and it’s dark quite early now. I feel like it’s really late when I look outside but it’s only 7.45pm.
Well that’s it for tonight.
Bye…………..
One of my brothers married a French girl whose mother spoke no English, but she and I chattered away at each other and with hand gestures and facial expressions, we got along great. Daughter translated, but even when she was distracted, we did okay. All I remember is “bateu” means “boat”. LOL! Luka’s family will probably know an English speaker as well. Flu shots don’t hurt. Wish they were allthat way. Will pray for Drew. Getting old ain’t easy. COOL that you get the whole family together again for a while!

Home again at the end of June. Yes, it is getting exciting isn’t it? Our friends leave to start their hols on Sunday before meeting us at the canal.
