Goodbye 2012.
Another year nearly over. Have things changed in any way from last year? Not really. People are still fighting wars all over the world. Some people think their opinion is ‘right’ and others are wrong. It would be so much easier if we all just agreed to disagree. Maybe one day?
I can only hope 2013 will be a year when people are tolerant of others’ views, whether it be religion, politics, sexual preference, or whatever. After all, as they used to say in Scotland, ‘we’re all Jock Tamson’s bairns’, meaning we’re all equal.
I’ve had a busy working week, as the town is mobbed with visitors. Motels are full, as are caravan parks and camping grounds. The supermarkets have been overflowing all week with people stocking up for their holiday. I’ve worked until 6 or 7 most days except Christmas Day and am starting to wilt. The lady who does my job every Sunday is on holiday and asked me to work 2 Sundays for her, and after agreeing to do it, my boss told me I had to work the Sunday before Christmas. Which means apart from Christmas day, I will have worked from 23rd Dec to 6th Jan. No wonder I’m tired. However, it won’t be long until I have a few days in Sydney as we’re going to see an Alexander the Great exhibition in a couple of weeks. As Melissa and Luka are in Canada snowboarding, we can stay at their place, so no accommodation costs for us.
We spent a couple of hours after tea tonight with friends, just catching up and enjoying a few drinks. As usual, the mosquitoes feasted on me, even though I was liberally sprayed with repellent.
Tomorrow even though it’s a public holiday, I still have to work. Just not as early as normal, because most people won’t hit the shops until lunch time, I hope.
I hope everyone has a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.
See you in 2013!!!!
My Wishes for u Happiness deep down within, Serenity with each sunrise, Success in each facet of ur life, May the stars carry shine upon you, May the flowers fill your heart with beauty May hope forever wipe away your tears, Family beside u, Advance Wishes!! Happy New Year for one and all. Dini

I’ve never heard that Scottish expression! What is your job? A Happy New Year to you Moira, and I hope that I see you literally next year!

And who is Jock Tamson? 🙂 Yes, it would be a better world if we remembered that we are all connected, wouldn’t it? I like the sentiment. Your work sounds exhausting but the upcoming holiday sounds fun! RYN: No, it’s not work, really, because I’m enjoying the study. What’s dragging me down is the negative attitude. I’m glad they’re choosing another study. I just want to stay with the oneI started.

Unfortunately I don’t see 2013 getting any better. I think it will be worse, but what we will have to do it so keep ourselves above it all. Happy new year.

RYN. Yes we were planning to visit chocolate factory in your town as my friend was staying in YT. we ended up finding a very nice winery open in nearby town and spent the day there, sipping and munching. And gossiping of course. My friends daughter has just moved to YT so I think I will be visiting every two or three months now when my friend comes up.Perhaps we can catch up one day? Hope 2013is wonderful for you.
