Goodbye 2010.
What a terrible last few weeks we’ve had in the world. Extremes of weather causing havoc. Mother nature seems upset. I’m sitting here at 9pm after we decided not to go out tonight as it’s been a really hot day.I think it was 35C. And in Queensland, they have massive floods covering an area larger than France and Germany combined! Where are all those poor people going to stay? I watched the news and they were being evacuated by helicopter, leaving everything behind, including pets. In West Australia their temps are even hotter than ours.
Tomorrow we are flying to Sydney for 9 days. I’m looking forward to it. I love Sydney and am going to enjoy spending some time with Melissa. Although she will be working most days we’ll see her each night. Husband and I will explore Sydney each day on our senior’s card, which I hope gives us cheap travel as it does in Melbourne. One of the first places we’ll visit is the Art Gallery of NSW to see The Terracotta Warriors exhibition from China. That should be interesting. Then we’ll wander around the rest of the gallery. I love the huge paintings they have there.
Then Melissa talked about taking husband skydiving for his birthday. He was 65 on the 29th Dec. He is now officially OLD.lol We were talking about when we were in our early 20s and thought 40 was old and 60 was ancient. How times change.
Apart from the Art Gallery and skydiving, we have no fixed plans for the week.
Melissa and Luka have been in Japan snowboarding for the last week. So she’ll have lots to tell me about their trip.
See you next year!
Have a lovely time in Sydney!

I hope you have a great time in Sydney. The Japenese?Chinese? gardens near Darling harbour are worth a visit. Some years ago son 2 and I hired bikes and cycled around the harbour, over the bridge, and through some parks. It was fabulous.

Oh, I remember reading about those warriors in National Geographic! Lucky you! Snowboarding in Japan sounds exotic. 🙂 Happy New Year!

Viewpoints change! I used to think 65 was old too…now, from my present vantage point, he’s absolutely callow!
