Football in Melbourne. (C’mon The Blues!).
Well winter is well and truly here. The rain has finally come too. I’m not looking forward to driving to Melbourne Friday morning. I hate being on the freeway when it rains, with all the single and b-double semis kicking up spray on the windscreen. But at least I’m not alone this time as husband is going to the footy in Melbourne with Evan. Too cold for me to sit at the footy. I’d rather watch it on TV. And the forecast is for rain all weekend in Melbourne. But I’ll be too busy catching up with the girls to worry about the weather.
I was online checking my bank account last week and discovered much to my surprise, that I had been in NYC buying clothes on my credit card on July 4th! How do people get my details when I am always careful about using it anywhere? I was lucky that it was only 1 transaction. It had been used during the night while I was asleep. I phoned the bank in the morning, who then cancelled our credit cards.
While that didn’t bother me, our normal account is linked to the credit card, so I had no ATM card for a week. Then of course it meant a new PIN to remember when we got them yesterday. But at least we got to pick our own PIN.
My computer has been up and running but not my email. Yesterday someone finally called and we managed to sort it out. It’s a wonder we did though, as I have a hearing problem and all the people who I had been speaking to at Telstra seemed to be Filipino. They have very soft voices and speak too fast for me. So husband was handed the phone quite a few times and related to me what was being said. I’m sure it must have been frustrating for the girl on the other end too.
I am now at the consolidation part of my diet. I’m wearing size 16 jeans and 14 tops. Yippee. Just a pity I also lost weight from my face, but not much I can do about that. When I mentioned it during my last doctor’s visit, she said it would likely fill out again. I hope so.
Tonight I’m going to do husband’s tax online. Hoping for a refund there too, but not sure what will happen, as he had compensation for 6 months from the insurance company, then Gov’t pension payments for the rest of the year. I like doing our own taxes, as it’s quite straightforward for both of us. I also do Evan’s as he has nothing to claim either.
Melissa is really looking forward to the costume party in Melbourne. She’s bought some things for our punk look. I think she’s going as a disco diva, Luka is a rock star from the 70s, and as he’s in a band, he doesn’t have to search for a costume, as he has it all. Evan is doing something fabulous according to Melissa, but she wouldn’t tell us.
Time for me to head to work.
Bye…………………
Quite frightening knowing that somebody has been into your bank account and spent money. It seems to happen so much in spite of all the security.

OY! Lucky that your card was only used once. It’s sad that we have to be sooooooo careful and even then get caught.

Oh, the party sounds interesting! Check your credit report to make sure the thieves are not getting loans in your name. RYN: Thanks! My friend found the keys on the beach where she’d been sitting. I’m amazed AND happy!
