Berlin, Prague & Milan.
East Side Gallery, Berlin. It’s a 1.3 km section of the Berlin Wall, with paintings by 105 artists from all over the world. Painted on the east side of the Berlin Wall in 1990 as a memorial for freedom.
This one was my favourite although all were wonderful.
Section of the wall and the original guard tower.
More pieces.
Brandenburg Gate.
Taken from the Prague to Berlin train.
Prague, photos taken from the Astronomical Clock tower.
The Astronomical Clock.
It rained most of the time we were there.
We did have a bit of sun for a few hours in Prague.
Flying in to Warsaw.
Meeting Regina at Lodz station and forgetting all our Polish words.
Photos of Dobron, where Regina lives.
This community park has been used one way or another since the late 1300s. A long time indeed!
Their local church.
The white house is where we stayed with Luka’s family.
A very religious country, we saw these or similar at the end of most streets. This was Regina’s street.
Spending the day in Lodz with Luka and Regina.
Milan cathedral, which was absolutely huge. Too big for my camera to do it justice.
Outside the church which has da Vinci’s The Last Supper painting on the wall. Naturally we could only look at it, no photos allowed.
La Scala. I was surprised how small it was. Cameras weren’t allowed, but husband’s iPad was with us so we sneaked a photo.

I just realised I’ve been working backwards. We started our trip in Milan. For some reason the Rome photos are missing. I took my netbook with me so they must be hiding on it somewhere. I still have all my UK ones to post as well. Next time!
Bye……..
Stunning architecture! Nice of Luka’s family to connect with you. 🙂

RYN: I like the new pope, too. I think too many Christians become smug and complacent. This one will challenge comfortable thinking. Seems only the politicians profit from their legislature, doesn’t it?
