Reasons and excuses
Yes, it’s been since May 1st that I posted…life has not been busy per se but I have neglected taking the time to post in here and my other two blogs over on blogger.com.
I am still on the hunt for a job, although I may have found one. My younger sister works at Krispy Kreme and she told me that they were going to be hiring, so both me and another of my younger sisters went in and applied on Tuesday. The manager on duty sat us down one at a time and interviewed us. He told me he wanted to hire me, but needed to check with the main manager to see how many people he was allowed to hire. I called him back today to find out what he’d been able to find out, and the main manager is wanting to hire 3 people total. The guy who interviewed us said he’d already hired one person (another of my sister’s friends) and was planning to hire my sister and I but that the main manager was concerned about us needing time off all at the same time – we have a family reunion coming up next weekend that we are all planning to go to. I told him it was the only time this summer that it was going to happen. He told me to give him a call when we got back in town and we’d go from there. Sooo…I’m not sure if that means that we both definitely have jobs or if it means that he’s still holding the positions open. I hope it means the former…I’ve been without work since the beginning of February.
The pregnancy is going well so far. I seem to have left any "morning sickness" in the dust, thank goodness, and even now I am not so incredibly tired all the time. At my last OB appointment we had an ultrasound to see how the baby is developing and see if the due date they projected for me is more or less accurate. That was an amazing experience…the baby is so tiny still that we couldn’t tell the gender, but he/she was moving around like crazy. I was surprised to see so much movement, because I can’t yet feel him/her. I was very moved, as well, to see such a tiny, perfect being growing within me.
We saw it’s spine and ribcage, and a couple of times I saw it’s teeny tiny heart beating. That was so cool. My husband (I haven’t thought of a good nickname for him yet) was really super impressed too; he told me that when he went to Speed Racer’s ultrasound he couldn’t tell what anything was and that it was boring (lol). I think he is just as excited as I am.
In 6 weeks we will be able to see what the gender is. Obviously the baby’s genes have already decided what the gender is but the external reproductive organs aren’t fully formed until about 20 weeks. My 16 week appointment is on the 24th of this month, they’ll probably listen to the baby’s heartbeat, which we did at 12 weeks too and that was cool. The heart rate was 133bpm 🙂
Okay, well, I am at my mom’s house and I think they are getting ready to have scriptures and prayers so I will sign off for now, and hope that my next post isn’t a month and a half coming.
