Damn I love SOAD.
There’s lingering snow outside, but it’s definitely not the type anyone would ever want to play in. It’s been sitting there for a few days, sullenly melting in increments. It no longer looks crisp and clean. It looks more like a dirty wet sock.
The days aren’t any warmer, even though they’re clearer and sunnier. I have illusions of warmth, because it’s so bright outside and we keep the house at a neutral 70. Then I open the door and within a second or two I’m cutting some serious glass. If it’s possible I’m already suffering from spring fever.
I’m looking around for a job that will allow me to actually utilize my degree. Maverik just isn’t cutting it anymore. I shadowed a PSR worker yesterday for an hour or so and discovered that wasn’t quite my cup of tea. Next up? A "youth companion" for the Nampa School District, working with kids in the Juvenile Detention Correctional Facility to help integrate them back into society and they’re schooling experience in a positive manner so that they can get the best of the situation and hopefully change their lives and habits for the better. I turn that application in tomorrow, and keep my fingers crossed.
April 12th is going to be, undoubtedly, one of the best days of this year.
