We got the house…

The title says it all!  We got the house.  ðŸ™‚

I decided Friday to run by and see if the landlord was there working on it.  I hadn’t heard from her on whether the other gentleman had paid the deposit or not.  She wasn’t there.  Talked to my mom who was out of town and she said she thought we’d of heard from her by now by the way she had talked.  So, I called her and her exhusband (who oddly lives with her) said she was out of town until Monday and to call back Tuesday.  I despise waiting.  I lack patience greatly.

Well, during all this I guess my grandparents went to my mom’s to put her mail inside and check the caller id and answering machine. The landlord had called back Friday to tell my mom (she lost our number) the house was ours.  So, my mom called her cell phone number she had left and the landlord said that she just felt like the house should be ours and called the gentleman back to tell him that she had already rented it.  I guess he told her he was crushed and begged to come and drop off the deposit right away.  She refused.  For some crazy reason she REALLY likes us.  Not too sure on that one.  I think it’s mainly because Ty went on and on about how he’d fix up the trashed yard & had even given her our address to drive by and look at our yard.  She had LOVED her yard and was really sad they tore it all to hell.  It has great potential and could be beautiful.

Not sure what I’ve actually said about this house.  I didn’t want to talk too much as I hate jinxing myself….

It’s three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  On the main floor is a very large living room, a kitchen twice the size (at least) as the kitchen we have now, the main bedroom and a big bathroom.  The whole front of the house is a large picture window (it takes up nearly the entire front wall, it’s beautiful).  Tons of natural light which I LOVE.  Downstairs is another smaller bathroom.  Two bedrooms, but neither have closets  :(.  I guess the guy partitioned them off for bedrooms, put up walls and then never finished.  My stepdad says it’ll be easy to build closets.  So, we’ll see.  There’s also another room that should be the laundry room.  Again, the guy tore out stuff and didn’t put it back, so it sounds like they’re moving the laundry hook ups from where the are downstairs into that room.

The backyard is huge.  It has a small front yard.  Huge downfall is neither are fenced.  Yet again, the idiot guy took down the fence for no apparent reason.  She said we could put up a new fence though and she may be willing to help cover the costs.  (Yeah, you need a job to buy a fence.)  So, hopefully we’ll be able to fence it at some point.  Until then the dog’s will just have to learn the boundaries of the new yard.  (They are already trained to "stay in the yard" at the house we’re in now.)

There will be NO mice.  (I’m having huge paranoid issues though of them climbing into boxes and moving with us.  YUCK.)  The rent is $131 cheaper, but I have a feeling we’ll have to pay the water so it’ll probably even out in the end.  Two bathrooms.  Bigger everything.  It’ll be great.  And it’s three doors down from my mom.  (This should be fine once clear boundaries are set.)  This should save me a ton of money for gas since my stepdad generally babysits and we live on the far opposite ends of town right now.  No more driving back and forth a million times a day (especially in the summer).  And we’re walking distance to the school (about three blocks) or I can drop them off there on my way to work.  Yes, it should all work out spectacularly.

She still has a ton of work to do though and said it’ll be about a month before we can move in.  So, maybe by November 1st.  Maybe.  I dread the moving aspect of it & I’m not quite sure how we’ll pull this one off.  We really have no friends that ever want to be helpful.  (Yeah, I think it’s time that Ty not only finds a real permanent job, but new, real friends too.)  Tessa said she’d help & I can probably scam my buddy Nathan into helping.  But those are my only two local friends.  (Well, there’s Leslie, but I don’t want her to bring her herd of children while I’m trying to pack.)  I can do almost all of it myself.  I just need a couple big guys to help with the heavy dressers.

We didn’t do much this weekend.  Kids lost their soccer game by two points. Other than that I mostly slept.  I feel like utter dog crap.  Still.  And now my stomach muscles and lower back feel like I did two million sit ups.  I have NO idea why.  I’m coughing, but I didn’t think I was coughing that bad.  It’s seriously painful today to move, cough, laugh.  Ugh.

Ty doesn’t seem to motivated in the job search.  It’s almost as if he thinks a job will just fall out of the sky and land in his lap.  Yeah.  Yep. Okay.  I told him I’d pay for the gas if he’d drive to Williston and turn resumes in.  Not today.  It’s Monday.  Last week’s excuse was it was Friday.  Will tomorrows excuse be it’s Tuesday?  Finding a job in this area really isn’t hard.  But you have to WANT to find one.  A job sure as hell isn’t going to go find you.  I still think he’s an idiot.
