Love bug invasion
Just last Sunday at the beach I had commented to Stanley, Wow, we really haven’t had any love bugs this year…oh my goodness.. I spoke to loud, that must have been it…because today and yesterday and monday…we have been invaded by the pesky little lovers! They are everywhere…all over the cars, the windshields, the house front door, the garage door. Hovering in their entwined embrace, just waiting for me to open the front door…yikes, their in my hair and on my clothes, swat swat swat, away drat bug, go make whoopy somewhere else!
Now drats I made another comment on Sunday…hummmm.. I carelessly said…oh, I haven’t seen any stingrays in the water yet…aren’t they always here in April and May?…oh dear now I bet I will have to shuffle into the water all summer!
Remember I told you about the plumbing problems we are having…well, there was a very long article in our Tribune about the pinhole leaks in the copper plumbing all over the county…the county is trying to add something to the water to change the ions…??? and this they hope will eliminate the problem…well not for us…we just replumbed this whole house in 1998 to the tune of $6000…and now we had to do it again…because of all the pinhole leaks…needless to say…we are spent!! But, our good friend came to Stanley’s aid and helped him with the main plumbing from both sides of the house…they worked all last weekend after a week of planning and many many trips to Ace is the place hardware…the ole guys working there gave Stanley plenty of tips…yeah sure, tips…LOL…anyway our friend, really he was an angel come to help, led Stanley thru the tedious job…and whala!! water and no leaks…hopefully…
I had a brain MRI today! wow, that was like being in a blender and someone kept changing the speeds…I have tinnitus so bad in my left ear and now I am having some dizziness and numbness in my neck…so the doctor ordered this test…well, I am coming home from the appointment last tuesday and I get a call from Stanley telling me that he has been laid off!!! Now that our season is over and the snowbirds have flown back up north until next October or November, his home health agency doesn’t want any PerDiem with benefits RN’s…so today was the last day of our medical insurance until we get a notification from Cobra..ugh…I am going to pick the insurance up for myself at my work and he will pay Cobra for just himself until he gets another fulltime position….it seems that now we look for the jobs with the benefits and not the other way around. It is tough being 60…I am worried that even though they can’t they will discriminate against him…oh, probably not…
Lets see what else is new with me? I took my profile picture off because I didn’t like that it showed up on recent entries…I have forgotten everything I have learned about posting pictures and am back to square one…I lost the excellent instruction sheet my good friend Gypsy Spirit sent me…but, I can’t post any pictures anyway as the digital camera is not working right…Did you ever think that maybe there is an ole black cloud hanging over our heads…me and Stanley…another fine mess!!
I still think though I’ll give it a try…now watch closely or don’t watch…it may or may not appear!
Hip Hip Hooray…this is a picture of the corner of my kitchen windowsill..see Stanley and Ollie way back in 1985! Hugs everyone!

Bless your heart, it does sound like a pretty dark cloud. The cool thing about clouds sooner or later they disappear and make room for blue sky and sunshine again. As I’m thinking good thoughts for you I’m imagining blowing those suckers away!

Hope Stan finds another even better job.

I wonder if we will see the love bugs up here, Ollie, since it is in higher ground but of course, we are only a few hundred yards from Lake Conroe and if it is water that attracts them, then they may come. We do have lightning bugs here and big June bugs and spiders that seem indignous to piney woods. I am sorry about the layoff…corporations have no hearts. The photo is sweet and here!

supposedly there is no age discrimnation but those of us over 50 know there is. I hope they find out what your problem is and it is easily fixed.

do you want me to send the info again???? I am so happy you have no bugs…especially considering my upset a moment ago as I saw an ant dissappear inside the keyboard of my new laptop…”How dare he?” lol. Hope your symptoms prove unfounded for a problem….you are braver than me..I’ll never have an MRI again…and mine was only on my knee. They’d have to knock me out first. Take care..luv U

Ollie, I firmly believe all things happen for a good reason – even bad things happen for a good reason in my book. It might not be true, but it does help one a lot to cope with the setbacks in life.
