Fifteen years in a home can cause one to accumulate a lot of stuff!  Especially if one is a pack rat like Stanley and myself!  Since we have been home in Florida we have been in the clearing out mode….Stanley did a great job on the garage and we even pulled one of the cars in there overnight!  I have been giving a lot of old textbooks to the Goodwill and Salvation army.  Stanley had organized his tools and even labeled his tool box drawers…..

It is hard for me working and finding time to clean and organize when I get home.  Driving from work (10min) or during my work day…I make a plan of what task I could tackle that evening…usually, though as I walk thru the door…I open the mail, have a glass of wine and prepare supper…by the end of the meal and some good conversation my plan seems to droop a lot.  I am supposed to get on the treadmill in the morning but usually I like to sit here and read your entries or Stumble or balance the checkbook…I think I need a jumpstart!

It seems to me that when the house is in disarray I seem to get in a rut…I used to be the human dynamo cleaning girl…but, alas…not as much…I do realize this is temporary and I give myself some slack…but even just writing this done I can feel myself getting reved up!  Hehehe, yes, vroomvrooom…here she goes…

We had the 2nd bathroom retiled and have bought a new vanity and shower doors.  The vanity said one size on the box and when Stanley was installing it he realized it was not the right size…so back to Lowe’s we go this weekend..  We hired a young guy to spread mulch and shell in the yard but he has put us off for about 3 weeks…I am calling him today and saying "sorry Charlie"….

I am getting good reports from my daughter regarding the growing of the green in SC…she reports the grass has all grown in and is beautiful and green!  My grandson is going to be the gardener boy and that kinda scares me….but, his mother will be in attendance for the first yard mowing and cleanup so that is reassuring,  I just don’t want him to get hurt!

Stanley has so much fun designing his landscape plan for the yard and garden when we move….I hope we can get this house on the market by July….

We are having a tremendous downpour right now outside….the dog is right here beside me panting away…only one clap of thunder but a real downpour….we have been getting a lot of good rains lately…my daughter says though not so much in SC in our area…but hot hot hot….

I think I better sign off for safety…..have a great day friends…

Twenty-two years in the military left us with not too much junk. We had a weight allowance. Now that we are retired everything goes in the basement. Oy. Thanks for your note.

I seem to have no motivation to do anything these days…. lazeeee me!…… 🙂

Daughter Candace gave me a simple way to do the check book. Keep enough in the checking account to cover checks, and all you need do is check the bank statement to see there are no mistakes there. I start by seeing if the closing amount on the previous statement shows at the start of the new one.

I’ve never been a good housekeeper. Dont know why. Just lazy I guess.

Sounds like everything is moving forward nicely, Ollie. So glad to hear it. Lots of hugs,

Ollie, Thanks so much for your note and the hug. I can understand accumulation of all sorts of things. My son in law started a home improvement project, he has replaced linoleum and carpet in entry, dining, kitchen and back entryway with ceramic tile. He is putting in the last of it today by the back door. He still has to grout and seal but it is looking so nice. WE are putting new carpet in family room. He is also putting new windows on main level, next year will be upstairs. I tell you when he finishes this home will have increased in value for sure. Love,

reading OD would certainly be my preference to going on a treadmill as well! LOL Yes, accumulation of ‘stuff’ is common, and having a good sort out is always worthwhile…makes room for more new ‘stuff’. smiles and hugs P

Aloha… I love a good old fashioned summer thunder and lightning storm… Well… as long as there are no fires started by it… There is just something nice… about the way the air smells after a rain… The drip… drip… drip… everywhere after the rain stops… Lucky you…! Smiles…

I love Rosie! And you. Shouldn’t we meet halfway between our fair cities, you and Stanley and K and me for a lunch before you leave? Let’s think about it.

k and I will cogitate on this and get back to you–so glad you like the idea.

ryn: the mail beat the call from the vacationer’s office: the ultra sound found a suspicious area that is probably benign–I should schedule a follow up before a year passes. I’ll see if the nurse who calls me tomorrow has any more info. I wonder where it is, for example. 2 of my daughters and one granddaughter have been seeing a breast surgeon whom they are very please with, due to similar things, but needing biopsies, etc….I’m thinking I might contact her myself for the followup. This scan was from a diagnostic scanning place near here.

Have a wonderful day.:
