Hot rainy days of July
All is damp around this house outside…black mold is growing on the patio out back…I have to cajole Rosie to go out to peepee…tentatively she looks out the door and steps one paw on the wet pavement….abruptly she turns her tail to me and pads back into the house…”come on little girl, come on, lets go peepee” I continue…I raise the large stadium umbrella and she perks her ears and starts again as I continue…I know she has to go she has been in the house alone since 7:30am when Stanley heads out and now it is 4:00pm. Finally she comes out the door and we proceed to walk along the granite/marble path that Stanley laid this past spring….a dog walking under an umbrella! I wish you could see this picture but, I must hold the umbrella and continue my ongoing cajoling…”good girl, lets go, lets go peepee…” finally she is forced by urge to do the circle dance in the grass and we can go back to the house….of course I have to give her a dog cookie as soon as we get in…after all my promising! She is content then and leaves me alone for a few minutes while I change my clothes and plop down for a rest…
We have had a lot of rain this year, so much that nothing can dry up. The yard and plants are beautiful but the dampness and mosquitos are the down side…I won’t complain though because we have had a few rainless years in the past and our water table was way down….
The only thing I wish for is a sunny day on Sundays so Stanley can get his walk on the beach…this is our wonderful fun and relaxation.
So much is going on in our lives, my mind is always clicking with entries but it always seems so jumbled up that I can’t get the words down…I think I am going to categorize things into paragraphs for separate entries in word and then copy/paste them here so I will have my record…
Good ole OD, I miss some people here, I miss Patalija, and Annie, and more frequent entries from ~Vee….we all need to say some healing prayers for Paula…and Mags K…and ~seafarer’s othermother…I am so happy that Holy Smokes is getting settled in her new home and posting pics…Leonalia always helps me pray…Willy makes me laugh….Jim brings tears to my eyes sometimes…I love to read about tabby’s day and all the other friends here. Gypsy Spirit inspires me…I have lots of good things to think about of everyone here.. Rosie looks pretty ferocious here! But it is a nice smile!
Hi Ollie, good to see an entry from you. You wrote exactly what is on my mind this morning — my mind is always clicking with entries for OD, and I never seem to get them written down! I attribute it to very little “private” time at home, as well as being very busy in the office (not much time to sneak OD time!) I feel I’ve kind of drifted away from some OD friends who could use an encouraging

word or two (the fact that they’re getting them from others doesn’t make me feel any less guilty!) Oh well, I shall have to record Dan’s wedding soon. Take care, have a lovely day, hope things dry out for you! It’s 8 a.m. and I’ve got the lawn sprinklers going — send some of it to us!

Hope the rain lets up soon, Ollie. I lost a couple of posts & switched to writing in Word Processor. When CJA came with musc & graphics help, another way came toi write posts that seems even better. The writing and most of the editing is done on a post set to private. Then at designated post time it’s made public. The diary is probably a safer storage place now than the computer’s hard disk

Thanks for your note, Ollie. Yes, when you set up a post and make it private you are the only one who can see it. Write and edit it whenever you want. When it’s as you want and the time comes for posting, make it public for all to see and click “Save” The last thing I do before making it public is to enter the current date at upper right corner (that may come automatically, haven’t checked)

ryn: No, they got married near Altoona, which is were the bride is from. They actually can’t wait to leave Ohio and move back to Pittsburgh. Dan still has one semester to go for his degree, and things are happening at work that will probably cause him to seek another job anyway, so it’s all going to work out eventually. Thanks for your nice notes!

Wow! And a pic as well! Would love to see Rosie walking under an umbrella. 🙂 Your entries are always focused – never jumbled. It is good to jumble now and again though. That is how our thoughts work.
