About time!
Time goes by very fast for me. I seem to never have enough of it to sit down and type a decent entry! I had to go back to my last entry to see where I had left off! 2007 is going to be a good year for us because I refuse to let this bad Karma that is trying to infiltrate our lives get hold of us! So…….here goes….a little update on what we’ve been doing!
Stanley continues to learn the in and out of the laptop…I am very proud of him as it was a big task for a new job! He is getting a lot of positive vibes from his superiors….this is his niche…he is able to endear himself to families and patients….he says sometimes he doesn’t know "where the words come from" but, I do…..he has a natural gift of drawing people out and into a better place!!
As far as the EEOC complaint apparently we are at the mediation stage….I have to look at the last letter again to be sure we are just supposed to "sit tight" and wait to be notified……
I still love being in the operating room and working with the young smart docs I work with, but, the work is veryyyyyy tiring….I come home exhausted with no energy left to exercise! So, my wonderful treadmill justs collects dust for the time being! hehehhe…isn’t that what everybody says?
I think I might be making a change soon though….I might join Stanley at Hospice but be an Admissions RN instead of doing the daily visits that he does….I am thinking about it..it is getting to the time in our lives when we need to make some decisions about the future…we know we will both have to keep working for a long time to come…but, we can tailor the work to our own choosing…that is the wonderful thing about being a nurse…lots of possibilities!
We are probably out of the parents lives now….after we were told to "stay in FL" , Stanley has tried to maintain communication with his Mother but every time he calls the drug addict grandson answers and will not pass the call to Stanley’s Mother! About 2 weeks ago we got a letter here at the house addressed to Stanley’s dad from the gas co. in Ohio….it was a shut-off notice! for a gas bill in arrears of $1300.00! We called Stanley’s son in Ohio and he went to his grandfathers house and told him about the bill that we had received. Stanley’s dad in turn called the drug addict granddaughter…and she ASSURED her grandpa that ALL his bills had been paid…yeah sure! So, the next am I faxed the gas bill to my stepson and after work he attempted to take the copy of the bill to his grandpa…..well, guess what…..they called the police! and told the police that he was trespassing….the police showed up and pulled their guns on my stepson….now, picture this, here is a young man going to his grandpas house where he had been going since his birth!!….fortunately for my stepson he had his cell phone on speaker phone to his mother and she was screaming in the phone to the police…what a mess!…the policeman went to the door and my mother in law told the policeman that "we don’t want him up here anymore"….the policeman tried to tell her that he had a gas bill for them but they did not want to hear it……..whewwwwww. So….now..I don’t know if the gas was shut off on Mar 1 or not….but, I did call the Adult protective services and gave them the whole story ….again!!! how many times do we have to do it! This old couple has been extorted of all their money and now we have heard that they signed a guit claim deed to the granddaughter…..But, for sure my stepson says he will never try to help his grandpa again…sad
On a happy note….our daughter and sil and grandkids are coming Easter week and we are all going to Mickey’s House….yeaaaaaa. I love Animal KIngdom and Epcot…….
I haven’t kept up with all my favs with notes but I am thinking about you all….all the time….keep safe and well….
oh boy will you get to see the Easter parade at DW? We were there one year on Easter and it was fabulous.

All I can do is give you a hug. What a horrible situation. Have you thought that maybe the grandparents are on drugs too? It’s hard to find an explanation for their behavior. I hope you van put the worry behind you and have a great Easter visit.

I’ve missed you!!!…. sorry about the inlaws, but sometimes we just have to step away and just say prayers as that is all we can do…… (((hugs))) ……….. 🙂

it is scary what they are doing to their granparents. I’d tell adult services that if anything happens because of their lack of prevention that you will hold them personally responsible.

Sad situation. Drug addicts will do anything to feed the habit. I hope Stan’s mother isn’t in danger of her life.

My gosh! No one I know has a story as bad as the one your fellow’s parents are enduring–such a loss of everything we trust our family to take care of when we are old. Really sad. I think working for hospice really puts your need to care for your parents, that drive, into positive force. Good for you! Think of you often too…hope you have a great visit with your grandkiddos

Oh my!! I thought my sister was evil…but this hits it all! How sad for you and V. I remember how much you did for them. Having them down there in Fl. so often!! The situation with my sister is also very bad. I’m sure, when my dad will be lucky and will live many more years, we may experience kind of the same things! She lives only 10 minutes by foot from my dad! Never visits! But wait until he’ll have health problems, memory problems… I’m sending you a BIG HUG and warm greetings. Take good care, love

Aloha… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ just drifting by ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (4-27-07)… Ryn: Thanks for your input… it helps… it really does… Yes… I am taking the anti-biotic… and yes… I know about the blood… and am hydrating like the dickens… And… I would not have any problem putting $$$ into a college fund for their child… but that much $$$ spent on a wedding reception seems way over the top to me… Sigh…
