Poetry: Walls of Justice
Walls of Justice
==================
When the walls of being
Fall to the depths of dreaming,
And babies eyes no longer smile,
No longer left gleaming;
I want to be gone
From this existential realm
Where the faults of humanity
Beckon loudly from the soulless
And the self-righteous smirk at their vanity.
Angry are the forces of nature
When they’re upset from their balance.
Tipping the scales of blame
Are the indignant natives first glance
And the soldier’s footing
Ever deeper their battle stance.
Surrogate mothers and fathers
Take the place of the familiar —
While orphaned sons and daughters
Question their homeland’s interior.
Bowled over, forgotten,
Missing is freedom —
Forsaken are the lost wishes
For God to open his hands
And greet them.
