Poetry: Valentine Piece
Valentine Piece
===========================
Sacred are the memories
For the ones we love —
Ancient are the hardships
Passed down from above.
No Valentine’s lust,
No sweets from the heart —
No valiant wooing
By wayside candy tarts.
Idiomatic to the language of love,
Esoteric to the angels above,
The science of fell words
Composed by flighted birds.
Compassion and honesty,
Admission and integrity —
Meld the willing
Into starts of dignity.
