Poetry: Altered Prose

Altered Prose
======================
Dissolved like sugar
In warm, southern tea —
The light shines dimmer
Fading reflections of me.

Under trees and pale sunshine,
Countless failures mount —
Some sunshine bleeds through
Brightening those failures for a count.

Shivering from the cool breeze,
Breathed from the ocean’s cleave —
Betting on moonlight’s coming
To reliquish a hasty reprieve.

From the nighttime I beg to question;
Night’s teardrops I can’t explain —
Still runs over my plainess
As it soils my remains.
