Princess pissy pants…

It’s been awhile… whooo. Why is it time flies and I never seem to have a spare moment to come here and write. Makes for a very boring diary!

Let’s see…. this week was the 2nd week of Tylah’s school vacation. It get’s tiring having her home all day everyday, but I did get to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which was quite reasonable. Other than that I’ve just been spending my days with Pippa… we sort of occupy each other when we’re bored. It’s just a pity she doesn’t live closer to me as it’s a 40 minute (or thereabouts) drive to her house… so we take it in turns to do the travelling.

I was very fortunate because my grandma helped me out with my bills the other day. Her call came out of the blue so I’m guessing my mother spoke to her about the financial stress we were under. Anyway, in her own very special words she told me that she would rather give me the money now when I need it than when she died. A little morbid, but a relief none-the-less. So she paid for both our cars to be re-registered (mine had run out some 2 and a half weeks ago and Mike’s 5 days)… That alone amount to $1100 (yes they suck us dry) and our phone bill which had crept up to $175.00. She then bought me some new navy blue nursing pants (because the zipper had broken on my other pair) and filled my car up with petrol (gas) and shouted me lunch. *grin* So it was a huge weight off my shoulders (and Mike’s) and gives us more time to concentrate on other things. I have my nursing rounds starting tomorrow (yikes!) and Mike is being interviewed for a Management position on Thursday (something we’re both dearly hoping he will get).

I was scouring Freecycle and came across a lady giving away tickets to one of the Melbourne Fringe Festival Comedy acts. I secured them and took Pippa for a free night out. The show was called "Princess Pissypants the Greedy Cheese Eating BItch and other Naughty Dog Tales." Let me say this, it was hilarious. It was all about the comedian and her dog, Murphy and the antics they got up to etc etc… Murphy is now deceased (she had to be putdown) but this comedian definately had a way of explaining things. Her name is Joanne Brookfield and she had myself, Pippa and everyone else in that room awash with laughter for the better part of an hour. At one point I was laughing so hard that I had tears streaming down my face… very very therapuetic.

I spoke to and had a nice conversation with Sam (Sarah’s sister). She was very reasonable and we spoke at length about some of the issues that have arisen. It felt very easy speaking to her especially since she was a third party. I think Sarah and I tend to get very heated up very quickly, so it was nice to explain to someone who was rational. Anyway she "broke it down" for me issue by issue and as it turns out, both Sarah and Sam have been fed lies by insane ex-landlord and I was able to set Sam straight on a few bits and pieces. I haven’t managed to have a proper conversation with Sarah yet (she has been busy at work casting for a new lead in a television show – she works for channel 7’s "Blue Heelers," a show here in Australia) and hasn’t really had a lot of spare time on her hands. I did manage to tell her that I wanted the rest of this nonsense dropped. I told her that there was no use continually bickering over these insignificant issues especially when we have someone as mad as her mother in the middle. I think she agreed, but, like I said I haven’t really managed to chat with her.

I’m taking the kidlets and the hubby down to the beach today. It’s beautiful and sunny so we thought we’d go for a stroll down by the St Kilda foreshore. Definately warranted on a day like today (and so I can taste my last bit of freedowm before I’m locked in a hospital for 2 weeks), it should be lovely.

I’m just waiting for Tylah to inish cleaning up her room and then we can go. Later on today I’m going to colour my hair (it needs a serious lift) and then we’re going to Mum and Dad’s for a BBQ tonight.

I’m ouuta here!

Glad you got a night out. That’s great! Also glad you went to the beach, hope it was fun. The warm season here is slowly fading into a crisp fall. Tank tops, shorts and swim suits will soon be a distant memory. Also glad you got to talk to Sam. That must be a relief to be getting these burdens off your shoulders.

That’s one awesome grandma! It sounds like your conversation with Sam was very positive, so good luck with sorting out the mess and the friendship.
