Lost another 2 lbs… I’m now 187.
Yeah yeah, it’s still heavy BUT I’m almost at my middle of March goal so I’m happy. I’ve gone down a size because I have two pairs of jeans that just don’t fit anymore (unless I want my "pants on the ground") and I can tighten my belt a lot more than I used to be able to.

I think i’ll easily be able to order the size 14 wedding dress. That sounds bad but it’s pretty common knowledge that wedding dresses are sized smaller (which is a pity because it can be awfully disheartening to put on a dress in YOUR SIZE and find that it doesn’t do up). At any rate I have until late May to get to a weight I’m happy with. At that point thee final alterations go in so I’ll need to be careful that I don’t do anything dramatic in June!!! LMAO. I’ve heard of Brides getting stressed and dropping heaps of weight and I’ve heard of not being able to get into the dress on the day… both horrors I don’t want to have to deal with. I’m not too worried, the less stressed I am about the whole thing, the less I’m likely to react. I’m all organised and the last couple things I have to get sorted is the cake (tasting is March 13th) and the Photographer (March 9th). It’s fairly low key. We’re not doing bands and DJ’s, lighting/noise/action etc… It’s a small budget and a fairly intimate reception so anything over-the-top would look redic(ulous).

Good news. I have tracked my invites all the way from creation and they are currently "out for delivery" according to the UPS website. That means that I should be signing for them tonight (since the UPS man usually hits my area at about 5pm). I’m ready to slap some stamps on those bad boys and get them in the mail!!! Yeeheeeeee.

June 26th. Hot damn that’s close. I say it again, if you feel like coming leave me a PM with your address and i’ll send you an invite. No, I’m not inviting everybody but I do view my friends on OD as good value so I’d be thrilled if you’d come.

RE: The last entry – WOW, lot’s of notes – Thanks. I should start by saying that Jimmy isn’t basing his future career decisions on TV shows alone, LOL. I wrote a few of those suggestions down because they make me laugh. He’s so good at playing deadpan anyway that there are times when that man could be FOS (Full Of Shit) and I’d never know. You have to hand it to him, after being in the military since he was 17 (that’s 24 years people), the idea of suddenly having to change everything you know (from being a soldier to a civillian etc) and completely overhauling your career is often daunting. Besides all that, he’s got so much on his plate right now that I doubt he’s actually seriously considering his options. Once he comes back we think he’ll have somewhere between 6-12 months left of service before he’s done. I think that time will give him more time to properly consider his options.

Tylah is OK. I didn’t intend to offend anyone with the "reverse racism." My point there was to make sure you didn’t think it was Ty initiating the racist remarks. It’s a fact that a lot of white supremacy still exists here. The midwest has a very mixed basket when it comes to nationalities so it’s to be expected.

One of the remarks at school yesterday (to Tylah) was:
D:  "Australia is full of criminals and ho’s"
(Tylah’s retort in a rather indignant manner)
T: "IT IS NOT!!"
D: "You arguin’ with me?"
T: "Yes. It’s not full of ho’s… OR criminals. No more than here…"
D: "Girl, you whacked. It if’s not full of criminals and ho’s the why you gotta cross the border to get here?"
T: "Because there’s a massive ocean between the two countries" (Atta girl Ty)
D: "You need to check ya facts…"
T: "I’ll bring a map."

She was so angry when she got home. It sounds like she’s pretty good at standing up for herself but she doesn’t cope when other kids start weighing in with their opinions (particularly incorrect ones). I called her Teacher and explained that the teasing is starting to affect her and he’s agreed to watch out very closely. I’m trying to make her understand that it’s counter-productive to argue with uneducated individuals. I told her it’s far more satisfying when they end up looking like fools because they really do have it wrong. I don’t think she’s able to leave it though…

We’ve got a funeral this afternoon. One of Jimmy’s soldiers’ newborn baby passed away. I don’t have the full story but apparently he was born with some type of respiratory distress, was intubated and put on life support. Unfortunately they weren’t able to stabilize him and he passed. Not the most pleasant way to spend an afternoon, especially because I haven’t met this couple before. I almost feel like I’ll be intruding. Still, I’m going to support Jimmy and the other’s in the unit who DO know them. It’s just not the best way to be introduced to someone.
