Things Mama has taught me….

• It is okay to hurt
• It is okay to be angry – it’s what I say or do when angry that can hurt
• I may hurt FOR you, but not BECAUSE of you
• It is okay to cry
• Because of Mama, I know how to be a best friend
• Children are precious gifts to be treasured and loved above all else
• A committment is permanent
• Where there’s a will, there’s a way
• If at first you don’t succeed, try again.  I’ll get it done in my own special way
• It is okay to show love
• When I am angry, I sometimes say stupid things that I really do not mean
• There is a driving force inside of me that will not go away
• GOD LOVES ME
• I LOVE GOD
• When things look down, count my blessings
• Optimism may hurt me sometimes, but it helps others
• There is always a reason to live
• Love never goes away – it may change a little, but it’s still there
• A little smile can go a long way
• It is okay to be sad
• Ultimately, come what may, I will survive until God decides otherwise

Thank you, Mama, for always saying, “I am not just your mother, I’m also your best friend.”  You have always certainly lived up to your words!  I’m proud of you, Mama!
I’m proud I have the greatest lady in the world as my own mother!!!!!!
