Some phone carriers make no sense *Edit*

This is my current prepaid phone, via Virgin Mobile.  Even though the package I have is really cheap and easy (like me), I have been trying to shave costs by switching to a text-only plan.  Those hardly exist anymore, and when they do, it costs more than what I pay for the basic talk, text, and web from Virgin!

What on Earth possesses these providers to build in text messaging at a super-low to free price with a talk plan, but the text by itself will cost more than the mixed package?!  ACK!  It just doesn’t make sense to me!!!!!!

But I love my Kyocera Jax, so I guess I’ll be keeping it.  $25 per month buys me 300 minutes and unlimited text and web.  I can’t download anything, so ringtones are only purchasable, not free.  I can’t receive picture messages on this phone, even though it says they’re available…haven’t figured it out, if they are.  Overall, though, it’s really a good deal, plus I DO have some talk time on it.

Before some smart-ass says it in a note, no we cannot  WILL NOT make it without two cells, for the simple reason that we don’t have any kind of intercom system in our house, and my wife is an invalid.  I don’t stay in the same room with her all the time, so it’s easier to have two cells activated and text each other.  It’s the same reasoning behind keeping my internet service….I don’t get out much, so this is my contact with the outside world…as if I have to explain myself to anyone, hell!  But there has been one instance where someone got all smarty with me and asked, when I was freezing cold in the house, if I had ever considered selling my computers or giving up the internet.  I unleashed upon them.  NO, I haven’t, in fact.  I’d rather being freezing cold with internet and phones than freezing cold without them!  Freezing is freezing!

 *Edit*

For my friends on here, whose opinions DO matter to me, I’d like to explain my last remark.  I reasoned that if I didn’t have enough to pay the whole gas bill, ergo it would still be disconnected, why not pay what I COULD pay, which also brought some pleasure to both of us?  See the logic, even if you don’t agree with it?
