Recap of the day from Jack’s perspective
Ok. I would prefer to be typing in our couples’ diary, too, but since I use a different computer now from the one My Mikey uses, it’s kinda hard to do that….not impossible, but hard. Anyway, I’d like to recap the day, so I can see if anything noteworthy (from the emotional ball standpoint) happened without my realizing it.
The first thing I remember is waking up and stumbling into the shower. I damn near fell over in the shower at least ten times. I would have waited to take a shower, but Lola always seems to do everything I want to do before I have a chance to do it, so…..
We dropped Lola at work, and then headed to Corsicana to meet Mama for lunch at Nanny’s house. Neither Mama nor Nanny commented on Tiffany in any way, shape, or form, which didn’t really seem bizarre to me until later. I didn’t think to ask Mama what she thought, but then again, Mama and Nanny didn’t have much time to form an opinion. Tiffany is allergic to smoke, and all of us were smoking in Nanny’s house, so Tiffany went outside to meet the kittens. Nanny criticized my hair, as usual. I knew it was coming, but I wish once in a while she might compliment me, you know?
We took the kittens to the pound, because one or more was sick with something. I got to see Kristie and introduce her to “my fiance” and our daughter. Kristie is my Aunt Trisha’s daughter, so my cousin. She runs the Humane Society’s animal shelter in Corsicana.
Off we went to pump gas and buy food. We were to head to Dallas for the DFW airport, which is fucking humongous!!!! I knew that, but it seems bigger than it did the last time I was there. I drove to the airport, with intermittent visits from Louis when traffic got too heavy and we felt claustrophobic. Overall, it went well.
Then came the hard part. We had to put our daughter on a plane, so to speak. We didn’t actually get to see her board or take off, because of heavy security at DFW, but we had to say goodbye, which was not easy for any of us. We managed a group hug, with “I love you”s from and to each of us and all of us. Maybe it was a little cheesy-seeming, but I think we all meant them anyway, even though we all detached ourselves from feeling too much on the outside.
My Mikey, or I think it was Hank, drove out of the airport. It was an interesting ride, during which Louis commented that one building that looked like a spear would produce an interesting homicidal ride….if someone were dropped on the top of it and slid down the slant and then fell off the edge of it….whoooooooooa!!!!! Anyway…..I digress? tee hee
Just outside of Waco, My Mikey’s leg started cramping, so I took over driving again. Oh, hell! BTW, we got another car!!!! I forgot to mention that!!!! It’s nice, and it drives REALLY well!!!!
So we went to get Lola, privacy went down the drain….as if privacy really does us any good sometimes, anyway….and Betty came out and bitched, griped, nagged, ragged, and slept.
It’s 1:37am, and Tiffany just called a few minutes ago to let us know she made it okay, it was fun, and DFW is definitely OUT if she flies again. It will have to be the Austin airport! LOL I can’t say that I blame her!!!
So, as Shakespeare said, all’s well that ends well? I’m not so sure it’s ended, but okay.
